Life Lately: Week 50

This is what the past week looked like.

I spy with my little eye two deer.

My neighbor announced that the lake is now open for skating.

Snowy silence, neon holiday cheer.

A vibrant salmon bowl almost too pretty to eat.

Looking dapper in his winter sweater.

In office selfie.

We had a little holiday party.

I'm still dreaming of the homemade buckeyes.

My manager gives the most thoughtful gifts.

Free lunch with friends.

It’s a welcome sight to see blue skies.

Stir fry was a winner winner chicken dinner.

This book was heartbreakingly beautiful.

Fave quote:

"She believed food should be enjoyed and that it was more of a waste to expand your stomach than to keep eating when you were full. Her only rule was that you try everything once."

This deer showed little fear, quietly watching us pass before following us for a moment in a way that felt slightly unsettling.

I think M is over winter already.

ln his defense it has been brutally cold lately.

Delicious Aldi find.

It's his world, we just live in it.

Afternoon adventures.

My mom and I met a family friend at Brewery Becker and had a delightful afternoon chat and snacky snack.

Hint of sunshine.

We saw the new Wicked because tradition.

I thought the cinematography and singing were stunning, but the first one was my favorite.

Movie theater popcorn never disappoints.

Love the holiday spirit in my parents' town.

Electric avenue.

Lyon Grill has the best fish tacos.

Podcast recommendation of the week.

Here are a few of my takeaways:

Compare one really good day with a "meh' day. Get specific on when you woke up, what you ate, who you talked to, if you exercised, etc. Look for patterns and determine which changes to make for a great 2026.

"Action creates confidence."

"Enjoy the journey... This is your life right now so act as if your dream is inevitable."

Get clear on your values. If a stranger looked at how you lived your last week/month/year what values would they see? I sure don't want my value to be stress so what actions and steps do I need to make to live my values?

Good reminder.

Yes to all of this.

"Peace is found when the Light walks into our longest nights."

C.S. Lewis always nails it.

"Peace was never a prize to win, but a God who will not let us go."

Practice gratitude.
