Life Lately: Week 10

This is what the past week looked like.

I had low expectations of this book (hot take: I don't love her podcast and miss her newsletter!), but I really enjoyed it.

Fave quotes:

"Suffering comes from resisting reality. The pain we feel often stems from wishing things were different than they are."

"Let me live my life in a way that makes me proud. Let me make decisions that align with my values. Let me take risks because I want to. Let me follow the path my soul is turning me toward."

"Think about emotional discomfort like learning to ride a wave in the ocean. Because, at their core, emotions are like waves. They rise, they fall. Some days, your life is going to be steady, still, and calm. Other days there's a hurricane that hits and you're going to let yourself feel whatever you need to feel, and you don't try to control it, or avoid it, or change it, life has a way of going back to a new normal."

Happy March!

Slipper snuggles.

New favorite coffee.

The ice is starting to melt.

I tried these sweet potato nachos and subbed out jalapenos and hummus for avocado and it was such a hit.

Living his best life.

In office day lunch meeting.

Sunset vibes.

I don't usually like reading YA books, but this was a fun read.

Fave quote:

"Most of the world's problems could be solved if everyone was as consistently kind and supportive to one another as girls are in the ladies' room."

I made sheet pan chicken with broccoli and tater tots.

Starbucks stop.

Reunited with my best boy.

Lunch with the family at Wixom Station.

Ella shot her shots at goal from outside the box and one hitting the post (so close!).

Even more impressive that one shot was with her right foot and one was with her left foot.

Benny boy.

We checked in to our Airbnb and then walked over to D'Amato's for dinner.

The gnocchi was incredible.

It's giving Miami vibes.

Cap-ture the moment.

See what I did there? ;)

Brunchin' at Ale Mary's.

G and I agreed this poutine was the best meal of our trip.

Bar hopped on over to Tom's.

The famous Spanish coffee.

We walked back to the Airbnb and had a little soak in the hot tub.

For dinner we walked over to Alchemi.

My drink was fire.

This was one of the best lobster bisques I've ever had.

I didn't know lobster could melt in your mouth!

The largest wine glass that had us laughing the whole meal.

10/10 recommend.

No notes.

Headed back to our Airbnb.

Taking in the Royal Oak sights.

"Boring brings peace."

Deep!

I am all for this.

This made me laugh way too hard.

Is that too much to ask?

Ha!

It's funny because it's true.

Saved my favorite for last.
