This is what the past week looked like.
Advent season.
Laying in the crack of the couch, lol.
Sunrise skies.
Cozy night in with my boys.
Tuesday morning I woke up with a scratchy throat and by Tuesday night I felt like I was hit by a bus with a fever, headache, chills, cough, etc.
G made me this soup and it is the ultimate comfort food.
Hot and flavorful, with a kick to make your nose run.
10/10 recommend.
In the couch crack again.
I like the way Espach writes so much that this book was a quick read, but I could have used more closure.
Fave quotes:
"I think we talk about happiness all wrong. As if it's this fixed state we're going to reach. Like we'll just be able to live there, forever. But that's not my experience with happiness. For me, it comes and goes. It shows up and then disappears like a bubble."
"There is no such thing as a happy place. Because when you are happy, everywhere is a happy place. And when you are sad, everywhere is a sad place."
"Becoming who you want to be is just like anything else. It takes practice. It requires belief that one day, you'll wake up and be a natural at it."
Winter is here.My buddy.
It's been so cold this week that the lake froze.
By Friday I was starting to feel better (no more fever!), but I lost my sense of smell so I took a Covid test and it came back negative.
See also: this neck massager is legit!
Hot tubbing.
Burgers and tots with a side of salad.
Neon skies.
Poppi is stupid expensive, but delicious.
My cuddle bug.
Cinnamon rolls as big as your head.
By Sunday I was finally feeling like myself again so I cleaned the house and we decorated for Christmas.
I got this sign shopping with my mom this fall and I'm obsessed.
It was a quiet week quarantined at the house (and missing all my fun plans) so I did a lot of reading.
I don't give five stars easily and I do not like books from the olden times, but this book was a five star read for me.
The protagonist is a true hero with a beautiful marriage and my jaw was on the floor reading about the laws against women in the 1700s.
Fave quote:
"I want the world to remember the small acts, done in love, matter every bit as much as the ones that make the newspaper and the history books."
Creamsicle skies.
I'm loving Dorit so much this season on RHOBH.
Somebody got a new toy.
As I was feeling sorry for myself for all the plans I missed being sick this was a good reminder.
Still thinking about this.
Love this.
YES!
Deep.
Hahaha.
The Wicked soundtrack has been one of my favorites since before it was cool.
Ugh it's the worst.
I miss summer.
What a dream.Ha!
It's funny because it's true.
For more life lately:
