Life Lately: Week 6

This is what the past week looked like.

Happy February!

This book was pretty slow, but the last hour put the biggest smile on my face.

Favorite quote:

"It's a particular kind of pleasure, of intimacy, loving a book with someone."

I think he is over the cold and snow of this winter.

Ready to host book club.

Set up a cute little drinks station...

But one of the girls brought everything for Aperol Spritzes and we drank those instead.

Delicious!

The theme was Italian and the girls understood the assignment.

Italian chicken sandwiches, spinach and artichoke dip, and Italian wedding soup.

We finished off our delicious dinner with Italian Cheesecake.

We had the best time diving into our book club pick (The Bright Years) getting lost in deep, thoughtful conversations one minute and laughing our heads off the next.

It was one of those nights that filled my cup.

Insert all the heart eyes.

Golden hour.

Cold and snowy walk.

Sugar snow face.

This salad is excellent with tofu.

Making my way through Genesis.

Snug as a bug.

Snowy morning.

This book was a little dry, but made me think.

Favorite quotes:

"Information is infinite and attention is limited. And value derives from scarcity, which is why attention is so valuable."

"Information is abundant; attention is scarce. Information is theoretically infinite, while attention is constrained. This is why information is cheap and attention is expensive."

"Americans no longer talk to each other, they entertain each other."

Reunited with an old friend for a little lunch.

Free Bath & Body Works stuff courtesy of reward points and a gift card from my dentist.

Proof that the little things are elite.

My best guy.

In honor of the Olympics in Italy we made this pasta and it was incredible.

The Opening Ceremonies were so fun to watch.

An Italian cocktail (Cima Del Basil with St Germain instead of simple syrup) pairs nicely with ski jumping.

G started painting the entertainment center this weekend and it looks stunning.

I can't wait to share the before and after because it's dramatic.

This picture my dad took was too good not to share.

If risotto is on the menu I'm probably going to order it.

Reunited with dear friends.

Easy like Sunday morning.

My sidekick.

Ilia's talent is memorizing.

Couch potato.

The Super Bowl commercials had me in my feels (looking at you Lays and Bud).

The halftime show was full of joy, love, and fun - such a vibrant, uplifting performance.

YES.

I adore this reframe.

Love this illustration of God as our umbrella.

Good reminder.

It's all perspective.

I choose love.

Great idea.

Thank goodness.

My favorite time of year.

I've never related to anything more.

It's a great idea.

It's funny because it's true.

I didn't realize how good I had it.

Haha.

I literally gasped when I saw Ricky Martin.

Hilarious.

100%.

So true.

I feel seen.

This made me lol.

Why do we do this?

Someday.
