Life Lately: Week 18

This is what the past week looked like.

I made this recipe again this week because it's that good.

Swoooooon.

I made banana egg muffins and they were delightful.

Professor Manny.

My sweet neighbor brought over these incredible cookies to thank us for getting her mail.

This spaghetti squash feta and tomato meal is quickly becoming a regular in the rotation.

Coffee with a sweet coworker.

Tulip time.

Team lunch.

Egg delivery from the best neighbor.

Chicken and brussels with a side of Aldi cheese fries (10/10 recommend).

Another in office day.

Eggplant parm sandwich on free lunch day.

After work walk with M.

Our neighborhood dive bar has the best olive burger.

I was enjoying this book until the ending.

Fave quotes:

"What was true then, and has been true as long as I've known you, is that you find beauty everywhere. You notice things other people don't."

"There's something about death that makes people want to live."

"Love makes you feel infinite and invincible, like the world is open to you, and anything is achievable."

"We only reveal our true selves to the people we care about most."

I tried NA wine and I was pleasantly surprised.

This book was a little spicy, but it was cute.

Fave quotes:

"She thinks of every romance she's in as if it's a type of fire. That some relationships feel like a wildfire - they're powerful and compelling and majestic and dangerous and have the capability to burn you before you even realize you've been consumed. And some relationships feel like a hearth fire - they're solid and stable and cozy and nourishing. She had other examples - a bonfire relationship, a sparkler..."

"The way people interpret a situation often says more about them than it does about the situation."

"We see everything through the filter of our own desires and regrets, hopes and fears."

"When we care about someone, they deserve the benefit of the doubt. We have to consider not only what they did, but also why they did it. Intent matters."

G cleaned out the garage.

Insert all the praise hands.

Friday night lights.

The red bud tree may be my favorite of all the trees.

We walked through our little town's 9/11 memorial.

Headed downtown.

G and I have started a new routine on the weekend to walk M downtown and get a little treat afterwards.

First the coffee then the adventure.

I'm a sucker for candles and a good cause so I had to buy these.

We ended our little downtown adventure with coffee and M got a pup cup.

Still in my organization era and tackled my candle cabinet.

Ella was playing soccer in our neck of the woods.

It was graduation weekend so dinner options were very limited and as we walked into this restaurant Ella and Bennett said "this is going to be an adventure!"

See also: G's work is a couple doors down and he was telling the kids that and B said "you work at the bowling ally?"

The shrimp Caesar salad was pretty good.

The sunset...

Kept getting better and better!

Easy on Sunday morning.

Fun Aldi finds.

I tackled the upstairs kitchen and it was a JOB.

I cleared out everything from this buffet and put it at the end of our driveway and it all disappeared.

Ended the weekend with a mocktail in the hot tub.

Still thinking about this.

Happy May!

Another gem from James Clear's newsletter.

Powerful visual.

Just over here trying to bloom.

It's funny because it's true.

If we don't laugh we'll cry.

The good old days.

Hahaha.

YES!
