Life Lately: Week 44

This is what the past week looked like.

Cute pupper.

Golden hour.

Birthday walk with the neighbors.

Manny was in a festive spirit as well. ;)

I made one of my favorite fall recipes for dinner.

We hosted a sweet premarital couple that is now married.

I helped host a Fall Flannel Fun Day at work and we had games, cider and donuts...

And we ended the event with a pizza party.

We had a little summer weather which I am always here for.

It's been windy though so the leaves are almost all off the trees.

I made another fall favorite that hit the spot.

I caught him laying on my fleece, lol.

Happy Halloween!

We missed this sunset since we passing out candy, but my neighbor took this spooky sunset pic.

Towards the end of trick-or-treating my neighbor came over to chat and she left some Dots (my fave!).

Sushi date night.

Late to the party, but obsessed with this sleepy girl mocktail (I use sparkling water instead of soda).

Fall on fire.

G brought home breakfast sandwiches from Biggby.

We dropped off our ballots.

Then we walked M in a subdivision we have never been in before.

Is it just me who likes to walk in new subs and look at the houses?

Sweater weather.

Curry chicken tacos were just as good as I remember.

Center is becoming one of my favorite chick lit authors.

Fave quotes (so many!!):

"Whatever story you tell yourself about your life, that's the one that'll be true."

"...Happiness is always better with a little bit of sadness."

"You had to maximize joy when it fluttered into your life. You had to honor it. And savor it. And not stomp it to death by reminding everyone of everything you'd lost."

"I had a theory that we gravitate toward the stories we need in life. Whatever we're longing for - adventure, excitement, emotion, connection - we turn to stories that help us find it. Whatever questions we're struggling with - sometimes questions so deep, we don't even really know we're asking them - we look for answers in stories."

"If you wait for other people to light you up, then I guess you're at the mercy of darkness."

"People say 'marriage is hard' all the time...But I disagree. I don't think marriage is hard. I think, in fact, if you do it right, marriage is the thing that makes everything else easier."

"Love is something you can practice. It's something you can choose to get good at. And here's how you do it... Appreciate your person... Be sure to choose a good person...Train yourself to see their best, most delightful, most charming qualities. Focus on everything they're getting right. Be grateful - all the time - and laugh the rest off... There it is. The whole trick to life. Be aggressively, loudly, unapologetically grateful."

"It's all about the details you notice. And the joys you savor. And the hope you refuse to give up on. It's all about writing the very best story of your life. Not just how you live it - but how you choose to tell it."

My sidekick.

I'm loving all the Real Housewives on right now and Bronwyn is my new favorite housewife.

She is just so fascinating and I am here for her fashion, her old husband, and her unique house.

A neighbor posted this on our neighborhood Facebook page and it was too cool not to share.

G made a veggie feta scramble and it was delightful.

New coffee flavor.

Pop of red.

Caramel apple for the win.

Go Lions!!

Good reminder.

It just didn't happen, boo!

Haha.

During election week of all weeks!

It's funny because it's true.

5:00 pm does feel like midnight.
