This is what the past week looked like.
Our last morning in Mackinaw started slow with coffee and a good book about marriage and murder, my two favorite things!
Catch part one of our trip here and part two here.
We stopped in Mt Pleasant for lunch on our way home.
My favorite thing is to find a good restaurant on Yelp for us to try, but I was driving so G was in charge and it was a fail.
The drinks were the best part of the lunch.
The fish was chewy and didn't taste fresh.
Womp womp.
Floating is all I wanna do.
I alluded to Many having a time at boarding here and when we picked him up we realized he had quite the wound on his back.
The dog sitter doesn't know what happened, didn't clean it, and didn't tell us about it until we noticed it when we picked him up.
There's no place like home.
The next morning we realized Manny's wound was pussy and infected so we called the vet and got him in later that day.
It's not a dog bite, but it is a pretty deep puncture wound that should have been stitched up but at this point it was too late to stitch so he was put on pain killers and antibiotics.
Beautiful sunset while we talked about conflict resolution with our mentee couple.
Supplier lunch perks.
Manny was out of it for a good two days, but by Thursday he was back to his old energy levels.
It's pretty, but I hate seeing the heat leave the lake.
On the mend.
My neighbor took this photo of the blue moon.
On Friday afternoon my mom and family friend came over.
We ate pizza for lunch, they loved on Manny, and then we floated on the lake for hours having deep conversation and drinking High Noons.
You know it's a great day when this is the only photo I have.
Friday night lights.
I gave myself a pedicure.
G made tostadas.
A tale of two sailboats.
Workouts for the week:
Monday - Rest day
Tuesday - 2.76 mile walk
Wednesday - 2 mile walk
Thursday - 2.8 mile walk and 40 minute swim
Friday - 2 mile walk and 60 minute swim
Saturday - 2.34 mile walk
Sunday - 2.19 mile walk
Manny has been the best little patient this week.
G had to clean his wound every day and Manny would bow down so G could clean and it was so sweet to see the trust there.
Pops of orange.
I took everything out of the fridge, wiped it down, and reorganized it.
It's little chores like this that feel so good to accomplish.
It's a full time job making sure this guy doesn't bump his wound.
Sunday was one of those perfect days where it was hot and sunny.
I floated all day long and read an entire book.
Such a fun book!
It was suspenseful and interesting without being scary.
8:12 p.m.
8:22 p.m.
What a difference ten minutes make.
If we're not on the lake you can find us on the porch.
Yes!
RIP Jimmy Buffett.
"...Joy cannot exist without sadness. Relief cannot exist without pain..."
Truth.
Favorite definition of consistency.
It's funny because it's true.
Hahaha.
Modern times.
After I cleaned the fridge I couldn't wait to show G.
Being an adult is stupid.
And I always seem to buy the most complicated furniture to assemble.
What an insult.
That's fun!
I need to do this.
For more life lately:
Lol, I guess pussy is grammatically correct, I probably would’ve said filled with pus, haha!
