Life Lately: Week 1

This is what the first week of 2023 looked like.

This will be the year I follow The Bible Recap from start to finish.

Tea Time.

Me Time.

This book was in a lot of "best of 2022" articles last year so I wanted to read it.

It's not my typical book, but I really loved Zevin's writing style and will read more of her books.

Fave quote: "...She realized she wasn't old at all. You couldn't be old and still be wrong about as many things as she'd been wrong about, and it was a kind of immaturity to call yourself old before you were."

Happy New Year!

January at the gym is crowded, but we won't let that stop us from pickling.

Slow cooker salsa chicken for dinner.

Tea with our premarital mentee couple while we discussed communication.

New year, new prayer journal.

Facetiming with my besties.

Manny moo.

Tea during the afternoons makes work more fun.

See also: It's been so gray and gloomy lately.

I don't think we've had a sunny day in over a month.

Sushi is always a good idea.

First selfie of 2023.

Whole Foods falafel sandwich is AMAZING.

The Bible Recap definitions of mercy and grace are so interesting that I'm still thinking about them.

G's work Christmas party (after a three year hiatus!).

I used to work at G's company so it was fun to be back and reunited with great friends.

The food was delicious.

G was honored for ten years of service.

On our way to see family after having to reschedule due to bad roads and then sickness.

See also: Manny loves sticking his head out the window.

My sweet Benny boy lost his front tooth!

Manny and Benny love each other.

Manny followed him everywhere and wanted to lick his ears (and he's not a licker).

My sweet Ella girl.

Ella sandwich.

Rocking her Alex Morgan jersey (and no braces!).

Benny the science boy.

Manny was in heaven with Auntie Jess' belly rubs.

We celebrated this beauty turning NINE.

Date night in downtown Rochester Hills.

We started with martinis at Too-Ra-Loo.

G's sister and brother-in-law are in town from France so they joined us for dinner.

The BLT pizza was as delightful as the company.

The downtown Rochester lights were still up so we walked around town to enjoy them.

The whole gang.

These cute snowmen were all around town.

This chair is made out of jelly beans!

"Being different isn't a bad thing. It means you're brave enough to be yourself." J.K. Rowling

Such a fun night.

The shop window displays were so beautiful.

One more selfie for good measure.

Wall art.

Snow(wo)men ballerinas.

My favorite display of all.

We stayed overnight in the area and brought lunch over to his sister and brother-in-law for one more visit before heading to my parents' to pick up Manny.

We had to pick up our favorite Thai food when we're in the area.

So true.

It all matters.

What a fun neighbor.

This is funny because it's true.

Accurate.
