AVATAR.

My parents took the whole family to see Avatar in 3D last night.I can't even remember the last time our whole family has gone to the movies together, but it was a blast.
I'm not even a fan of sci-fi movies but this movie was AMAZING.
The special effects were insanely awesome and Pandora was gorgeous.At the end of the movie everyone applauded. I have only been to one other movie where the whole audience applauded. So cool. Now go see this movie, you will not regret it.

Dinner Conversation.

Garth and I don't discuss politics or the meaning of life during our dinner conversations. Oh no, we discuss the really important issues in life. Like which actor played the best movie president. After much debate, Garth eventually agreed with me that Bill Pullman was the best movie president. I mean, come on! Have you not heard his speech in Independence Day?! Gives me chills every. time.
Last week our dinner debate was on who played the best villian. Garth argued John Travoltra, but I won with my argument for Kevin Bacon. He is just so mean in his movies I want to punch him in the face. If you have seen Sleepers you'll know what I'm talking about.
So, do you agree with our choices? Do you have conversations like this over dinner or are we weird?

Romantic Comedies

Growing up I was OBSESSED with romantic comedies. I could. not. get. enough. I saw each and every one that came out, usually at the theater.

Then I met Garth and I was introduced to "guy" movies. I became obsessed with the James Bond, Lethal Weapon, and Die Hard flicks. It has spanned to Iron Man, The Hulk, and Transformers. I even begged Garth to go to the theater and see the new X Man movie. Who am I? What happened to the girl who loved romantic comedies?

I'll tell you what happen. I found a love so great it surpassed any romantic movie. When I watch romantic comedies, I don't get this ache in my chest of what I want someday. I now feel that this movie is lame because I have a love so much better than this.

Top 5

I recently saw a movie that earned a spot on my top 5 movies of all time. It's old and you have all probably seen it, but I am obsessed with it. It was one of those movies that had such a twist, I couldn't stop thinking about it after it ended. The movie is Usual Suspects.

Wedding, a Funeral, and Baby Fever

Friday we went to a funeral for our friend's dad. We received a call that our friend's dad went to the doctor a few weeks ago because he thought he had the flu only to find out he had Stage 4 Prostate Cancer. He was given 4 months to live, but died 2 weeks later. It's not fair. Aren't we too young to be going to our friend's parent's funerals? I think so.

Friday night we had a movie marathon. Let me just say that I was not impressed with Slumdog Millionare. It was well made and the acting was phenomenal but it was not what I was expecting. It just wasn't my kind of movie. I had no idea what 7 Pounds was about either, but it was NOT what I was expecting either! I seriously hated this movie. Garth and I were so depressed after this movie and that is not how I like to feel after a movie. We also watched Marley and Me. Garth and I could totally relate to the main characters because they reminded us of our relationship. I thought the movie was cute and funny and even though I knew what was going to happen I cried. Too many dramatic movies for one night!

Saturday was perfection. The weather was sunny and warm so Garth and I went to the park for a good hike. Then I came home to find The 30 Day Shred in my mail box. I did the video while Garth studied. Oh my word! It was harder than I thought! I was so sore!!! Love the workout and I am so thankful it is only 20 minutes long! After that torture I showered and Garth made us chicken fajitas. We watched The Final Four game with my alma mater, Michigan State. YAYAYA! Go green! It was a stressful game but we won!!!

Sunday we went to church and then had lunch with my family. Then we went to a wedding open house. Our good friends were married in Mexico last month and had a celebration at their house. It was a lot of fun to meet their kids and their families. And their families all had lots of well-behaved children which gave Garth and I serious baby fever. Seriously, there were so many adorable kids that were so polite and sweet! And I couldn't get Garth away from the air hockey table and darts where he was beating all of those kids. Hilarious. I finally was able to get him away around 8 so I could watch my Country Music Awards. Loved it!!!

Watching Over Us

So I'm the biggest wuss when it comes to scary movies. Not only can I not stand them, I also believe they are a waste of time. These horrific scenes go on in real life and you can watch it - it's called the news. There is so much violence and hate in the world, why do we need movies to emphasize this? But I especially can not handle watching movies where something bad happens to people at night. I don't know why this is but after "The Sixth Sense" I couldn't sleep. And then there was "Frequency" and I couldn't sleep after that.
Garth rented an action movie for us this past weekend and I was looking forward to relaxing after a busy weekend. The movie had a deadly robbery occur at night that left me sleepless Sunday night. Monday night I fell asleep from sheer exhaustion from the night before, but awoke in the middle of the night really scared. I started praying to God to give me peace and to keep me safe when Garth randomly put his arms around me. I felt so much safer and as I looked over at Garth, I saw he was still sound asleep. I fell back asleep quickly thanking God for watching over us.
