Life Lately: Week 33

This is what the past week looked like.

Breakfast lately (with a side of cherries or watermelon).

We look forward to our after work boat rides to unwind from the day.

Fancy mocktail.

This one is Fever Tree elderflower sparkling water, splash of pineapple juice, and squeeze of lime.

Aldi tomato basil chicken sausages sautéed with onions and brussels was an easy and delicious dinner.

Another day, another boat ride.

I think this had too much hype, but it was fun to see all the cameos.

Tired pup.

A beautiful start...

To a stunning sunset.

Leftovers repurposed with cauliflower rice and yum yum sauce and it was even better than the night before.

Good cloud day.

Air fried salmon over jasmine rice and veggies with spicy mayo.

Find the beauty in the mundane.

Rancho relaxo.

I wish I didn't finish this book, but I'm still not great at abandoning books.

Fave quote:

"We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark; the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light."

It has been such a hot summer that after my daily swim and our boat ride we watch a show in the cool indoors.

We are currently binging Lioness and it's fun and suspenseful.

Floating is all I wanna do.

Happiest dog on the lake.

You know it's a good weekend when I read a good book in two days while floating on the lake.

Fave quotes:

"The quickest route to unhappiness was to pay too much attention to anyone's disapproval, particularly someone that you barely knew."

"My mother used to say that what you did first thing in the morning was what was most significant to you."

"Grief is exhausting. No one talks about that... It uses the same muscle as love because with real love you have to show up and give. You have to show up and be given to. And it's not so much that I've forgotten how. It's that it's al added up to be so heavy."

"What happens if you lose your own axis? Since my parents died, that's how it feels. That the axis on which I spun - like a certain angle of light, like a prayer - is gone. I can't find it. I'm not even sure it still exists."

"I believe we make bad decisions when we are operating from fear."

Cruising.

Manny loves the boat as much as we do.

Who knew we would be boat people?

Espresso yourself.

Beautiful end to a quiet and peaceful week.

James Clear's newsletter is full of gems.

"Give the time you have more life."

"What is my current trajectory?"

Still thinking about this.

I love this definition of success.

SO. EXCITED.

Such an important reminder.

Yes!

It's funny because it's true.

Haha.

Such a valid point.

I am such a homebody.
