The House Anniversary

I can't believe it's been five years today since we closed on our house.

Per tradition, we will open a bottle of champs and eat Thai food tonight to celebrate.

I know a house is just a house. It's just a shell that protects us from the cold winters and the hot, summer sun. It is the people IN the house that make it a home. But it's been our home for five years.

There are so many nostalgic memories I have here. The first home we ever owned. The first threshold G carried me over.

The only home Manny knows.

The Balloon Fest every year we can watch from our yard.

The Friendsgivings and Thanksgiving hosted in our basement will always hold special places in my heart.

The winter of 2014 and ALL THE SNOW.

The countless hours deck sitting. Reading. Having a glass of wine. Listening to music. Watching the sunset.

Renovating the kitchen.

Sledding in our backyard.

The countless events we have hosted with friends and family.

Millions of walks around the neighborhood.

The house decorated for Christmas.

The many bonfires and great conversations.

The many meals we have cooked in the kitchen.

Yes, friends. It has been a wonderful five years. We had no idea what was in store, but it's been a wild ride. House renovations. Cozy nights by the fire. Dancing in the kitchen. Laughing on the deck. Cheers to five amazing years!

For some reason I thought the very end was going to say you decided to move! Maybe just cause you've been talking about stuff. But that is good. A cozy home and great neighborhood are good thjngs and worth celebrating!
