I mentioned last week that one of my goals this month is to shop at Aldi's more frequently to save money. A reader asked what I like to buy here so I thought I'd do a post about what I like to purchase. Please let me know what you like to buy at Aldi's in the comments so I can check out new products!
Produce. Especially avocados because they are the cheapest I've ever seen them. I also love buying apples, onions, tomato, peppers, lemons, carrots and lettuce here.
Spanish Qunioa with brown rice. I bought this on a whim once and I'm so glad I did. We cooked it in the microwave and it tasted really good, especially over curry chicken or stir-fry. It's a staple in our pantry now.
La Croix. Another item I'm obsessed with lately that I haven't found cheaper anywhere else.
Beans. Chickpeas, black beans, white beans. I love having these stocked in the pantry to throw together a delicious chili or a burrito bowl.
Baked chips. I haven't been able to find Baked Sour Cream and Onion chips in the stores in a long while so I'm so glad to find them here!
Brats. Their Smoked brats, German brats, and Feta and Spinach Chicken brats are SO GOOD. Seriously. I didn't think anything could beat Johnsonville, but these do.
Eggs. They have Michigan organic eggs at my Aldi's and they are cheap and delicious. And I love supporting local.
Cheese. Tons of varieties of cheeses (like at Trader Joe's) at great prices. Great cracker choices as well for my cheese and cracker lovers.
Sourdough bread. They have the same sourdough bread that Trader Joe's has and it is seriously the most delicious bread ever. G and I are kind of obsessed. You get a huge piece for 120 calories. It's great for breakfast or lunch sandwiches or with avocado on it.
Now if only they sold Three Buck Chuck here and my life would be complete. I haven't tried their hummus yet, but I want to. What else should I be buying?
