I may be off the challenge, but I still want to meal plan because if I don't prepare we get take out. Instead of going so extreme like the Challenge, we have decided to make two changes to our lifestyle that should reap positive results: no take-out and no alcohol. The exceptions to this are for special occasions which would be when we get together with my family to celebrate Garth's birthday and our anniversary. I think renewing my love for cooking, trying new recipes, and making healthier options of our favorite recipes will help our diet progression immensely. I actually read in a magazine yesterday that you cannot let your food cravings rule your life. If you love something so much it is toxic and you need to let it go. With that said, I'm breaking up with Jets. We are through. Your cheese bread made me fat.
This weekend we were good. I cooked a lot and we didn't get any take-out this weekend. We only drank Sunday night at a friends' Super Bowl party. Speaking of the Super Bowl, I loved the half time show! I wasn't as impressed with the commercials, but my favorite was the Budweiser Clydesdale horses and the one with the boy who goes to prom and kisses the prom queen. Love the message to be brave. What were your favorites?
But I digress. I made my go-to breakfast casserole Saturday morning and just subbed the turkey sausage for broccoli:
I forgot to take a picture but Saturday night Garth made lemon chicken with mashed potatoes. Yum! Here is what is on our menu for this week:
Sunday - Taco Soup
Monday - Turkey and Avocado Burrito
Tuesday - Grilled Chicken with Garlic Roasted Zucchini
Wednesday - Leftovers
Thursday - Crockpot Beef Stew
Friday - Mediterranean Flatbread Pizza
Saturday - Slow Cooker Chili
What's on your menu this week?

I love your Menu Mondays. I always love to see what other busy people are cooking for dinner!
The breakfast casserole looks so good!
Smart!! I like that idea of changing the meat for a veggie!
I did love the prom commercial too - that smile with the black eye - loved it!
Meal planning helps us so much! It makes that conversation "what were you thinking about dinner"? much easier. I just say check the board! My favorite commercial was the Taco Bell one with the old people! I would pay to see my grandmother at a club! Have a great week!
I hate meal planning too, but for us it's a must! Otherwise we would live on peanut butter sandwiches and frozen pizzas! Love seeing others menus, helps give me ideas!
I loved the horse commercial too! And the sappy military one jeep did. When did the Super Bowl get so emotional!?
meal planning is one of those love/hate relationships! it definitely helps the grocery budget & our waistlines...but sometimes I get so bogged down by it! Thank goodness for Pinterest and some new yummy ideas!
I'm just no good at meal planning but goodness this casserole looks delicious!
