Thirteen for Thursday

1. I am obsessed with Taylor Swift's song "Begin Again." LOVE IT. Like listen to it on repeat love it. Maybe because Garth laughs like a little kid and I love that about it. Or that he thinks I'm funny and my boyfriend before him never did. Or maybe because she mentions James Taylor.

2. Anybody else excited for the spin off show Girl Meets World? It stars Cory and Topanga from the original 90s show Boy Meets World as parents of a thirteen year old girl. Wow, that makes me feel old but I'm still going to watch it.

3. Last night the girls from small group made DIY Rag Wreaths and I am kind of obsessed with mine. It was a fun project that even I, the most UNcrafty person ever, could do. It was nice, mindless work cutting and tying that I found very soothing. I may be making more of these in the future for winter and summertime.

4. I love this time of the year so much. Garth and I have been walking after dinner every night and enjoying all the lights around the neighborhood. Monday night we didn't even need a jacket since it was so warm. Love.

5. I just watched an episode of House Hunters and the couple had a personal chef and now it is my personal mission in life to someday have a personal chef. Best. Thing. Ever.

6. Our Christmas show at church is this weekend and it is one of my favorite things about this time of  year. It def gets in me in the Christmas spirit.

7. So it has been in the 60s the first few days of December and I love that so much. I hope it's a sign we are going to have another mild winter. Fingers crossed!

8. This time of year always has me reflecting on how thankful I am for my vision as I almost lost it two Decembers ago. It was a bittersweet time because we also made an offer on the house we now live in.

9. So as the Christmas lights go up and our tree glistens in the corner I'm reminded of the many days I laid on the couch recovering from surgery, dreaming about moving into our new home. It was a crazy time, but I'm thankful for it. It makes this December even more memorable because I don't take my vision for granted. I savor the Christmas movies, the music, the lights and enjoy the season.

10. I try to remember the American sayings Garth messes up because they are hilarious. Yesterday Garth was trying to say he was drained, but instead he told me he was drenched. Ha!

11. The slippers I bought for Garth two birthdays ago are starting to squeak and it is hilarious listening to Garth walk around the house.

12. Speaking of slippers, for Christmas Garth said he feels like an old woman because all he wants is a really nice knife set and new slippers.

13. All I want for Christmas is a puppy. I search the Humane Society website everyday, but no luck on any puppies yet.
