I debated
even doing a post today because I didn’t want to whine. But you know what? It’s
my blog and I’ll cry if I want to. I’m on day 27 of P90X and I have only lost 2
pounds. I’m extremely frustrated. I count every calorie I eat. I eat healthy
foods. I exercise my butt off every gosh darn morning. This is my fourth
stinkin’ week of it and I have only lost two pounds. TWO! When I was doing the
Shred I had lost over 20 pounds by now. I wasn’t even expecting that much, I
would be happy with six to ten pounds by this point. But two? That is just plain disappointing. I’m
disappointed. There I said it.
You
can tell me all you want that maybe I don’t need to lose weight. Or that muscle
weighs more than fat and I’m building muscle. But I do need to lose weight. My
pants are still tight. I don’t like what I see in the mirror and I definitely do
not like the number on the scale. And I can complain about it because I’m doing
something about it and it’s not working. I went to the P90X website and that
just made me discouraged. I don’t need to see extremely fit people smiling at
me. Mocking me. They have lost 40 pounds. 90 pounds. That didn’t help me feel
better.
I don’t
know what to do. If I should keep going or try something else? I thought last
week was a fluke so I switched out the Yoga X for Plymotetrics and LOVED it. I
love to jump and to sweat and to work out so hard you can hardly breathe. I
know, I’m crazy but that is just more my speed than yoga. But still no loss on
the scale this week either. I’m just feeling discouraged and needed to vent it
out. Thanks for letting me get out my frustration. Hoping next week brings better results. Next week WILL bring better results. I just
know it!

I'm no expert, but the first thing that came to mind is maybe you aren't eating enough. With all the calories I assume you're buring doing the P90X, maybe you need to eat more so your body doesn't go into starvation mode and hang on to every pound it's got. Does that make sense? I know on WW when you exercise you earn extra points. Some people use them, some don't. Just a thought.
Morning - I love reading your blog. Just a thought. Have you ever thought to embrace what you see in the mirror that it is who you are going to be. Why are you so obsessed with what you look like ? Does Garth Love you no matter what ? Does GOD love you no matter what ? I have a friend that got married and but on some weight and instead of fighting to lose it and being obsessed she just embraced it and is so much happier. Best of luck to you :)
That's so frustrating Lindsey! I'm sorry :( I know you've been working so hard.
You KNOW God loves you just the way you are, and Garth does to. It does not make you obsessive to want to be the healthiest you that you can be.
There might(?) be some truth to the your body might be holding on to the calories since you are doing so much output, so maybe you could up your carbs and protein a little, but otherwise you are doing so great- and I am really inspired by you!
I don't know you, but just from seeing what you eat, I think you are a little carb and processed food heavy in your diet. I think you would see a lot of progress if you added more good fats to your diet and ramped down your carbs.
You mentioned thinking about trying the Paleo diet and I highly recommend it. Cutting out all the processed shortcuts will make you feel so much better and I think you will see the progress you want! I would also recommend throwing away the scale and just going by how you look in the mirror and your clothes fit.
I can wholeheartedly tell you it's your carb intake. Here's the secret to success: http://www.marksdailyapple.com/press/the-primal-blueprint-diagrams/#axzz27t9jxmqI
It WILL WORK. Believe me, as someone who has struggled to lose weight, the pounds FELL OFF when I started Paleo. You can do it :)
