9:45 a.m. Work out. I was still sleeping when
Garth went for his run this morning so I just do the elliptical while watching CMT’s Top 20 Countdown.
10:30 a.m. We are having friends over later so I
clean the bathroom and dust while Garth vacuums and cleans the hardwoods.
11:30 a.m. Shower and get dressed for the day.
12:30 p.m. Garth and I go out to lunch for sushi.
There is a cop sitting next to us talking to the waitress about how this hot
weather causes a lot of cranky people to get in big fights which make his day
really busy. I don’t know why I enjoy ease dropping so much. The cop did start
talking about a stabbing that was pretty disgusting to listen to while eating.
I guess that’s what I get.
2:00 p.m. Run to the grocery store to pick up a
few last minute items for tonight. Then stop at Lowe's to grab a new filter for the furnace.
3:00 p.m. Get home, grab the mail, check email,
blog for a little bit.
3:40 p.m. Set out chips and dips, make a couple
appetizers, set the table for dinner and light candles. I love candles! They
make me so happy.
4:00 p.m. Our friends from church that we have not
seen in WAY too long come over. They live in a really cool loft in Detroit so
they were excited to get out of city and enjoy the suburbs. We ate, talked,
laughed, and caught up on each other’s lives. I love those friends that you haven't seen in awhile, but as soon as you do it's like no time has passed.
6:30 p.m. Fire up the grill and make steaks with
corn on the cob for dinner. Garth makes the best steaks. Seriously. He uses
this steak rub with salt and olive oil and it is out of this world. I’m picky with
my steak. I only like steak from my dad, Garth and Stillwater Grill.
7:00 p.m. Eat dinner and continue catching up with
oldies but goodies. Then we have a bon fire on the deck and watch the
fireworks.
10:00 p.m. Our friends leave and I do some cleanup
and then sit down with Garth for a little bit and relax.
10:45 p.m. I fall asleep on the couch while Garth
watches baseball and he wakes me up and tucks me into bed. Typical.
