Mountain Dreaming

I am so ready for vacation. I feel like I’m just going through the motions. Wake up at 5:30 a.m. Drink my coffee and do my devotional. Workout until 6:45 a.m. Shower. Get ready for work. Carpool. Work for eight hours. Drive home. Make dinner. Relax and eat. Talk to Garth. Watch a little TV and go for a walk. Go to bed. Repeat times five.
I feel like I’m just in auto pilot. Cowboy, take me away. I need a change of pace. I need a new normal for a few days. A view of the mountains. Fresh air. No schedule. No place to be. Sleeping in. New memories that need to be created. Roads that need to be driven. Restaurants ready to be explored. Ahhhh how I love vacation. Road trips with the windows down, the tunes blasting, and lots of inside jokes being created.

Uninterrupted quality time with Garth to look at our first four years of marriage. To discuss the year ahead. To read about marriage together and learn more about it. To pray and set goals for our future. To discuss getting a dog and if kids are in the future. Time to reconnect. Refresh. Recharge. Relax.
Vacations are not just a luxury in these parts. They are a necessity. They keep us sane and healthy. And I’m about at my breaking point and glad a vacation is on the horizon. I need it. I crave it. I am looking forward to it! Bring on the good times.
