I don't want to beat a dead horse, but I do want to address the concerns that I have an eating disorder from last week's post.
Frist of all, thank you so much for your concern! I can assure you I do not have an eating disorder. I take that very seriously and have Garth keep me accountable. I know I can get obsessive about my weight and I have read extensively on the subject to keep myself in check and make sure I don't ever cross that line.
I'm like every other girl. I have fat days. I eat too much sometimes. I exercise too much. I don't exercise. I find a balance. I eat too little some days. Most days I feel good. Most days I like what I see in the mirror.
But with moving, eye surgery, etc I had gained some weight back. I want to look good in a bikini so I uped it a notch with diet and exercise for a few weeks to get maximum results. I think we have all done this at one time or another to look good in a swimsuit or a bridesmaid dress. Every diet book I've read from Jillian Michael's and beyond has a restrictive plan to lose weight fast. It's short term and normal. That is all I'm doing!
In other news, I've lost two more pounds this week (as well as two pounds when I weighed in on Saturday) so I have lost 10 pounds total. I feel good and I'm happy with the results. I'm not at my goal weight but my clothes are very lose and I can see muscule definition in my legs, arms, and abs. That is good enough for me! I feel better about that after reading the articles you guys sent me so thank you for that encouragement! I like that I have muscle and curves and I wouldn't trade that for anything. I don't know if I'll get to my goal (though I'm 5 pounds away) by Myrtle Beach since it's down the wire but I'm content with where I'm at.
I wanted to share a few books I read that helped me make peace with my body and habits:
Naturally Thin by Bethenny Frankel
The End of Overeating by David Kessler
The Secret of Skinny Chicks by Karen Bridson
How are you all doing?

Congrats on those additional pounds! I can imagine it feels great to see the hard work pay off! But most importantly I'm glad to hear you are happy with yourself...that's definitely the #1 goal!
Yay for being so close to your goal!

great post! I really like the book reasonably thin.. I've read it several times!
I am the one who mentioned the eating disorder. It's not in anyway to be rude like I noticed a few others were, it was just a concern due to the fact I read your blog often. I also knew you in school, and you were a tiny thing.
I think the issue I saw was you seeing yourself thinner, you seeing clothes were becoming bigger on you, yet you still weren't happy. That is why I said it sounded like you were kind of huggin the line of being a worry.
I totally understand about weight and being happy with yourself. But you were always a lovely person, and I am sure you still are. The whole topic of weight annoys me to no end anyway. I think as long as a person is healthy it's all that matters. Sure a bikini or what not is awesome to feel good in, but you are just as awesome if ya had to wear a one piece.
Anyway Congrats on you loss, and I hope your vacation is wonderful :)
side note.. please please please do not do that 3 day diet.. it's absolutely horrid.
I'm so frustrated that I'm not losing these 15 pounds I've put on in the last two years or so. Congrats on your accomplishment!
That's great that your getting close to your goal...just stay healthy love :)
I am brand new to your blog, but just started reading and you are so cute! Congrats on your weight loss and getting close to your bikini goal weight! You will have a blast at Myrtle Beach. If I wasn't so close to my due date I would be all inspired to start working out and counting calories again.
I love Bethenny Frankel and have always wanted to read her books. I wish NC sold her Skinny girl margarita mix!
I am hooked and look forward to more blog reads from you. Happy Tuesday!
