Life and Times.

My first week as 27 started out a little rocky. Tuesday we went back to this house we loved and were seriously considering putting an offer on...and found a huge crack in the wall that was probably an indication of structural problems. The next day our realtor told us another couple had put an offer on the house and we had until noon the next day to counter offer. We just did not feel at peace putting an offer in on the house. The crack made us really nervous, but the house needed all new carpet, a deck, fresh paint, and the basement needed to be finished. It was just too much work than we had in mind. And the search continues...
Wednesday night I was driving home from work and all of a sudden my car made the most horrible noise I had ever heard. I pulled over to the shoulder of the highway to find my front, right tire flat as a pancake. I hate that I don't know how to change a tire and my sweet husband had to come rescue me. But he did, and I am so grateful.
The week got better though. Wednesday we had dinner with some old friends we hadn't seen in a while. Friday night we went to a wedding in Detroit and got to see a lot of great friends we had not seen in a while. So. much. fun.
Saturday we went to visit Garth's family and celebrate my birthday. My sister-in-law made my favorite meal and it was so good! Then Garth and I took my niece to the beach. It was our first time just the three of us and we had so much fun. We played in the lake all afternoon swimming, splashing, and having a great time.
Sunday we went to church and then back to my parents' house for lunch. My mom made my favorite meal of all time, zucchini pie. YUM! And then she made the cutest penguin cupcakes you have ever seen.

Adorable, right?!

I hate flat tires! Hate them!

We're on the house hunting journey as well and have found our dream home... a tad out of our budget and so we're speaking with the bank today on payments and such before we put an offer in - IF we do. I'm not comfortable with this at all and think it probably wont happen. ugh.

Ughh...I've only had one flat tire, & I certainly don't care to have another.

Glad that your week got better as it went along!

Things happen for a reason and it's probably best for you not to put in a offer. Happy house hunting tho!!

And those cupcakes, amazing!!

I just put an offer in on a house... and now my realtor told me that he was talking to another realtor this morning and she was going to submit an offer. It makes me nervous!! I feel like a little kid and I want to scream "I FOUND IT FIRST" and stomp my feet hah

I'm sure you'll find one you love even more though!

Happy (belated) Birthday! The house definitely sounds like it wasn’t the right fit for you two and I know you’ll end up with something just right in the end. That was sweet of Garth to come rescue you and I can’t change a tire either ;)

It sounds like the rest of the week was much better. Friends, family, food and fun! It all sounds like a blast. The Penguin cupcakes your mom made are precious!

those are SO stinking cute!!

Our church offers a class to anyone who is interested on basic car maintenance...oil changes, tire changes, etc. Is there anywhere around you that does that? I mean, I am sure Garth is always willing to drop everything to rescue you, but it couldnt hurt to know right? The basic stuff is easier than you might think...if I can do it, trust me, so can you!
