Switching it up.

I've done it. I have hit that plateau and cannot seem to make the numbers on the darn scale decrease. I'm trying not to get discouraged and decided to switch up my routine.
The place we moved is very close to my parent's house so I have been running my old 4 mile route again. I cannot tell you how much I enjoy running. It's so refreshing to run after doing work out videos for so long. I don't have to think, watch someone else, or have them tell me what to do.
I wake up at 6 a.m. and enjoy the quietness of the morning, watch the sun rays escape through the branches, hear the birds chirp, see bunnies hop, and hear my shoes padding the pavement. I even saw a Great Blue Heron and deer.
On the weekends and days it's raining I do The Biggest Loser Weight Loss Yoga. I love it! I did not expect to be dripping with sweat afterwards, and really sore the next day. I highly recommend it.
So hopefully by switching up my routine I can start to see the numbers drop again. Supid last ten pounds, why are they always the hardest?!

Your morning run sounds beautiful! That's part of the reason why I love horseriding early on a Sunday morning... only me, the horse and the wild animals around! Bliss.

Hope the new run and the yoga help those last stubborn pounds shift!

I hope it will work for you! Sending you positive work out vibes ;)
I just started doing the shred, it's kicking my butt! I also run 3 miles before I do it but I can only run on a treadmill...wish I could run outside! I have a pace issue, ha!

I hope this works for you - I love to run too, but I haven't been doing it since I came home from college for the summer. We live on a mountain and while running DOWN the mountain is all good, running back up it - not so much.

I hit one too. I just kept doing what I was doing and changing things up and I got past it! Hopefully you will too!

I have been wanting to try yoga but hate classes. Do you really recommend that DVD? How much room do you need to use it? Good luck with your last 10# and thanks for any info.

I'm looking for a new workout to get into, I might have to try that yoga video.

I used to track all my miles that I ran- but now I track how many sunrises or sunsets I see, what animals. It somehow makes my runs more valuable!

Switching up your workout is the best thing you can do! I am sure those last 10 lbs will be gone in no time, and if not, all well! I have seen your pictures and you are gorgeous!

Running in the morning is my favorite time too - It is the only time in Texas during summer where the air is a little cool

I wish I loved to run -- it seems like it would be so peaceful but all I think is "OMG, I'M GOING TO DIE!" I just love yoga -- if only Fenway would leave me along long enough to get into it.

Plateaus are the worst, but keep at it! My trainer always told me to mix it up and do different things because sometimes your body adjusts to your usual workouts and isn't impacted as much.

The weight loss yoga sounds great, too. Good luck with your last 10 lbs!

I love my Biggest Loser DVD! It's still a workout, but at a lower level for those days when I just don't have as much energy.

A switch up is good...keeps me from getting bored!

I love running, too! It's great, esp in the morning while everyone else is sleeping and it's cool and quiet outside!
The last 10 lbs are the hardest because they are the most gratifying, as you inch closer and closer to your goal. You can do it!

Hey, at least you made it to the last 10! I'm generally not motivated enough :)

Good luck and keep us posted!
