I've done it. I have hit that plateau and cannot seem to make the numbers on the darn scale decrease. I'm trying not to get discouraged and decided to switch up my routine.
The place we moved is very close to my parent's house so I have been running my old 4 mile route again. I cannot tell you how much I enjoy running. It's so refreshing to run after doing work out videos for so long. I don't have to think, watch someone else, or have them tell me what to do.
I wake up at 6 a.m. and enjoy the quietness of the morning, watch the sun rays escape through the branches, hear the birds chirp, see bunnies hop, and hear my shoes padding the pavement. I even saw a Great Blue Heron and deer.
On the weekends and days it's raining I do The Biggest Loser Weight Loss Yoga. I love it! I did not expect to be dripping with sweat afterwards, and really sore the next day. I highly recommend it.
So hopefully by switching up my routine I can start to see the numbers drop again. Supid last ten pounds, why are they always the hardest?!

Your morning run sounds beautiful! That's part of the reason why I love horseriding early on a Sunday morning... only me, the horse and the wild animals around! Bliss.
Hope the new run and the yoga help those last stubborn pounds shift!
Saskia x
I hope it will work for you! Sending you positive work out vibes ;)
I just started doing the shred, it's kicking my butt! I also run 3 miles before I do it but I can only run on a treadmill...wish I could run outside! I have a pace issue, ha!
okay i absolutely hate running but you just made it sound awesome :) maybe i'll get inspired??
also, i MUST try that biggest loser yoga video!
good luck getting those last few pounds off. you look great regardless!
They totally are, but with hard work, you'll get them! Hang in there! And thanks for the yoga recommendation!
Awww, girl, don't get discouraged. Just keep doing what you're doing and just be proud of yourself that you've come this far!
That is hard! Good luck with running and yoga
Good luck with everything! I too am a runner and have found little else that is as peaceful and calming as early morning runs. Now if I could only will myself to get back into such a routine! Good luck with the last few pounds... you can do it!! :)
Gosh, I really want to enjoy running as much as you! I'm trying. I will need to check out the yoga video; it sounds awesome!! So happy for you and Garth to be in your new home!
Your running route in the mornings sounds wonderful! I bet running will get rid of those pesky pounds ;)
Keep up the hard work!!
I so love running in the morning for those exact reasons! Plus, it always gives you a better start to the day!
I hope this works for you - I love to run too, but I haven't been doing it since I came home from college for the summer. We live on a mountain and while running DOWN the mountain is all good, running back up it - not so much.
I hit one too. I just kept doing what I was doing and changing things up and I got past it! Hopefully you will too!
Sounds like a great running environment! We just started the Shred last night & jillian is kicking mine & Hubby's butt! Good luck!
I have been wanting to try yoga but hate classes. Do you really recommend that DVD? How much room do you need to use it? Good luck with your last 10# and thanks for any info.
I'm looking for a new workout to get into, I might have to try that yoga video.
I used to track all my miles that I ran- but now I track how many sunrises or sunsets I see, what animals. It somehow makes my runs more valuable!
Switching up your workout is the best thing you can do! I am sure those last 10 lbs will be gone in no time, and if not, all well! I have seen your pictures and you are gorgeous!
Running in the morning is my favorite time too - It is the only time in Texas during summer where the air is a little cool
I wish I loved to run!!!! Hang in there!!!!
I also wish I could run. I hate it! Good for you though.
I'd be so happy with what you've already accomplished, so definitely don't get down on yourself- you're doing awesome!
I wish I loved to run -- it seems like it would be so peaceful but all I think is "OMG, I'M GOING TO DIE!" I just love yoga -- if only Fenway would leave me along long enough to get into it.
I think you are doing a great job and I'm sure the scale will start dropping soon. :)
Good luck with the last 10 and I think that you look fantastic! The run you went on sounds so nice and 4 miles is a lot!
hang in there girl. its hard to get over that pleateau (sp?) but switiching it up will help!!
Lindsey, thanks for the info on the yoga DVD. I think I'm going to invest in it.
Plateaus are the worst, but keep at it! My trainer always told me to mix it up and do different things because sometimes your body adjusts to your usual workouts and isn't impacted as much.
The weight loss yoga sounds great, too. Good luck with your last 10 lbs!
At least your not adding on pounds! I can't seem to keep myself motivated enough to keep working out. Ugh
Good luck with your last 10 lbs! :)
i LOVE running too! its one of my favorite parts of my day now. my "me" time!
good luck. and cardio will DEF help drop lbs!
I've been such a slacker on the running thing lately and I MISS IT!! Glad you're able to get back out and do it!
LOVE running too! It makes me feel so accomplished once I'm breathing as hard as ever from pushing myself on that pavement.
HATE the last 10 lbs. the last 5 are even worse!!!
Don't get too discouraged girl! Sounds like you are doing everything the right way!
Your morning sounds great!
i hope it will work for you :)
Sounds like a great change! I love running but unfortunately after two days of running my shines and my hips KILL me! :-(
Learning to love running at the moment and getting better at it!
All the best, lovely blog.
I love my Biggest Loser DVD! It's still a workout, but at a lower level for those days when I just don't have as much energy.
A switch up is good...keeps me from getting bored!
way to go! You have done so good! Keep up the good work :)
What a perfect way to spend the morning! I'm sure those last few pesky pounds will come off soon! You're my exercise inspiration!
I hear "Sweatin' to the oldies: with Richard Simmons" is great!
I would just to watch him yell and get all excited! :) LOL!
Good job on the working out...your braver than me...I lose interest...
I just found your blog and really enjoy it (c: I wish that I loved running, everyone I talk to who loves it always talks about what an incredible experience running is...but I just can't get into it! Keep on going (c:
good luck! you've done so good, don't get discouraged!!
I love running, too! It's great, esp in the morning while everyone else is sleeping and it's cool and quiet outside!
The last 10 lbs are the hardest because they are the most gratifying, as you inch closer and closer to your goal. You can do it!
Hey, at least you made it to the last 10! I'm generally not motivated enough :)
Good luck and keep us posted!
