The Moments.

Do you have those moments where you "feel" married? Maybe it's just me, but most of the time I think, "Gosh, am I really old enough to be married?!" or "I could get pregnant and it would be ok" or "I cannot believe I am married to my best friend." It's been a year and a half and these thoughts still frequently fill my mind. Anybody else?
But there are moments in my life where I just feel married. It's in the simple things, too, like when I'm putting away Garth's laundry, or I'm making him a sandwich for lunch. And I just love those moments.

that is an awesome thought/feeling. It's been almost a year and half for us and I absolutely LOVE saying "My Husband". Hehe!

I definitely have those moments... often!! When did we become old enough to have our own houses, have children, pay bills and sort out car and house troubles?!!

I have the 'am I really old enough to be married' moments as well. :) I often ask my hubby if he can believe we're married?! ;) Ahhh, married life is wonderful and I cherish every moment!

I have the more, I can't believe other people my age act like they're still teenager moments a lot more.

I think I'm this close to telling someone to get off my lawn.

Well, I don't ever have the "old enough" moments since I'm clearly old enough. :) But, I do have those weird moments when I almost feel ready for a family. (key word being almost!) It is really great to know I'm part of a team and don't have to tackle life on my own any longer. That's a great feeling.

Yeah the pregnancy thing still trips me out even though, YES, it is okay:p Being married is still sinking in I think, because I consistently have those moments where I look at Robert and say "baby?" and he says "ya love?" and I say "baby, we're married!" He just laughes, pats my knee then smiles at me like tht very fact makes him the luckest man alive....Sigh...I love being married:)

I recently got engaged and I am having a hard time even believing that (in spite of the wedding planning)! I can't wait for those "I'm married" moments.

yes girl I know what you mean. When I come home and do house work and then get dinner started and my hubs comes home, just seeing him smile makes me feel "married" love it! : )

I can't wait for those moments! With only 44 days until our wedding I keep having these moments where it hits me and I realize that we are truly getting married very soon!

I know exactly what you mean and I get like that too. Sometimes it can just be as simple as brushing our teeth at night and getting ready for bed. I just feel very married!

I have these moments all the time. I think about when I was growing up how I would dream of falling in love, getting married, being a wife and sometimes it just hits me, that all of those things happened and this is my real life. Even after three years, I will still sometimes ask my hubby something like "wow. can you believe that we're really married? and this is really our home? and we're really living our lives together?" His response is ... "Yes". I think it's a girl thing that sometimes we just stop and think about it and say, Wow. They are good feelings to have. It means we're still excited and we're not complacent about our lives.

I'm only a week and a half "in" to marriage as you know, but I love these thoughts!! I hope in a year and a half I still have them like you. It's so fun to just stop for a moment and feel the "wow, I'm married!"

I just thought this thought last night. I was putting stuffed peppers in the oven for dinner and thought to myself how much I enjoy being married to him and doing things for him.
Great reminder!

Oh I TOTALLY have those moments! Sometimes they kinda freak me out! :-)

La Petite Chic said...

Yes, yes, yes! It will be three years for us in September and I still have these moments!

I get this randomly while I'm doing something with my husband. Like washing our van, or doing yardwork. Makes me so grateful!

Lauren said...

I don't have those feelings yet, but hope to experience them someday!!! :)

Liz said...

Totally understand. :) Sometimes I go, wait a minute, I'm old enough to be married and contemplating starting a family? Whoa. Seems like just yesterday I was having senior pictures taken. :)

What a sweet post!! But I totally know what you are talking about. Though, sometimes I still feel like I am just pretending or playing house!! It's crazy!

Pleasant Living said...

Great post! You know what really stood out to me? When you said, "When I'm putting away his laundry or making him a sandwich." Those things show that you feel married when you are serving, not being served. What a godly example you are setting!

I have those moments and I love them! Especially "I could get pregnant and be ok" thing.. it boggles my mind!

Totally!! I have those moments ALL the time... seriously. But it's kind've fun to still feel that way, I think. It keeps it fresh and new. I hope they never go away!!

I absolutely love & cherish those moments.

This is so cute! I am not even engaged yet, but whenever my boyfriend and I talk about getting married it's hard to believe I'm actually old enough to be making life decisions like that. I usually still feel like a teenager...probably because I work with them and am constantly being mistaken for one.

Jon and Steph said...

I definitely have those moments! Sometimes it blows my mind to think about it ;) Jon still says, "I think it's so cool when I have a conversation with a colleague and use "my wife" in the sentence."

jennifer said...

Almost everyday. Maybe because we were together for 6 years before getting married...that actually being married still takes me off guard!

Ginger said...

I love those thoughts that randomly pop into my head and I still get a huge grin on my face anytime someone says my married name.

Jessica said...

Aww, I totally know what you mean. Sometimes I'm like, "wait a minute, I'm MARRIED!!" Even though it's been about a year. But yeah, I have those moments when I just FEEL married too. And it's a great feeling! :-)

Its been three year s for me- and sometimes I still think- "wow- really, I am married?" Crazy. I wonder when it will go away.

Unknown said...

I have those moments too! They're great!

Brown Girl said...

I wondered if there was a married feeling...I'm not even married but I kind of feel like it?

Jules said...

I love those moments. It feels good to be "his wife" all the time, but it feels REALLY good when something so small and random can just make me stop in the middle of the day and be thankful for my husband and the life we're making together

Lacey said...

I have those moments too...sometimes it feels so bizarre to think that I'm old enough and responsible enough to be married! Other times it feels no natural and perfect. I adore those moments.

Skyelynn said...

YES! I had one of those last night. While I was loading the dishwasher I looked up and could see my husband mowing our front lawn - I had a "I'm totally married" moment!!! Such a great feeling!

Hi :-)
I know what you mean... my husband and I just celebrated our 7 year anniversary. We have 2 beautiful girls and a mess of animals.
I thank God every day for my wonderful husband. I love being married and even though its been 7 years it still blows my mind that I am married :-)

Ahhhhh...okay. Phew! I thought this post was going somewhere else and my heart was pounding!
But, yes!...I feel married and blessed everyday! :) I love doing the "wifey" things!
I had a nightmare that I was single again and The Mr. and I never met yet! I had to go through all the BS again to meet him again in life! I woke up bawling and then smacked him for me having a dream like that! All he said half asleep. "have a bad dream again, Baby?"
I replied, "yes. ZzZZZZzzZZZZZz"

I have moments like that all the time and then also on the other side of that since my husband has been away for the majority of our year and a half marriage, I sometimes "forget" that I'm married. I just feel like we're dating long distance again! haha!

great thoughts...and yes - it still amazes me sometimes - I'm really a mom!! And I feel really lucky I am married to my best friend.

I know EXACTLY what you mean. It's weird and exciting all at the same time. We've been married for 4 years and every now and then (in the middle of doing something so routine and normal) I look at him and say "wow, you're my husband!".

Courtney said...

Totally know what you mean!! :) Love them!

I have these moments all of the time! When I realize that I am an adult. Or wow I have 4 people that depend on me and I am the boss of (responsible for). It is so much pressure sometimes. I think it hits me most when I think of things in number of years and it is like 10 or more. than I think of when I was in school and we thought in terms of months and a few years being a long time. Sorry this was long I think about it a lot.

Dana said...

I have those moments sometimes and it is like wow I really am married. Sometimes I just do not believe it.
