The Sewing Story

Garth recently lost a button from a pair of his work pants. He politely asked if I could sew it back on. I informed him I did not know how to sew. Surprise filled his face and he uttered, "What?! But you're the wife! You are supposed to know how to do this!" I apologized and offered to take his pants to my mom's because she could sew. Well, Garth was not happy with this response so he went to Meijer and bought a beginner sewing kit.

I kid you not, I came home to Garth sitting at the kitchen table concentrating hard on sewing his button on. I started to laugh and Garth just replied, "This is really easy. Let me teach you."

Yesterday I came home from work and told Garth I had ripped my sweater. He looked at the rip with a very serious look on his face and uttered "I think I could fix this for you." I burst into a laughing fit. Once Garth realized that he sounded like an 80 year old women he burst out laughing too.

LOVE IT! No shame in not knowing, awesome that your hubs took it on himself, and great that you guys can laugh at the situation!

I never learned how to sew either and it horrifies my husband. Every time he tries to teach me I just say that it's obvious he was supposed to have that little chore in our marriage.
