Fit Friday!

Workouts this week:

Sunday: 30 minute Paddle boat ride and 30 min walk with Manny
Monday: Run with Manny
Tuesday:
Run with Manny
Wednesday:
Run with Manny and walk on lunch
Thursday: Run with Manny
Friday: Run with and walk on lunch
Saturday: Walk Manny and 30 Day Shred

This week was a busy one and I didn't get to walk on lunch as much as I would have liked so I really focused on my food. A girlfriend and I are keeping each other accountable to stick to 1500 calories a day and the accountability is really helping me kick it into gear and stay on track.

I was gone last weekend too so I haven't weighed in. I do plan to weigh in this weekend though!

Thoughts this week:

This is just such a good reminder. I keep trying to use the 21 Day Fix app and use the containers but it sets me up for failure every time. I just don't like it. I don't like the lack of carbs and cheese. Tell me I can't have something and I want it even more.

I just always go back to calorie counting because that is my favorite. And that's okay. There is nothing wrong with the 21 Day Fix. It works for some people and that is awesome. But it's not the program for me so I need to just realize that and move on. I will use the videos again in the future so it's not a waste of money. And I did incorporate a few key things from 21 Day Fix: I strive for 4 servings of veggies a day now and 3 servings of fruit. That really upped my fruit/veggie intake and keeps me satisfied longer.

I truly believe the best weight loss plan is the one you can stick with and calorie counting is what works for me. It's what I can stick with. I enjoy putting my food into My Fitness Pal. I enjoy being able to eat whatever I want. I've been successful with it so far. I just need to get more disciplined on the weekends. I always go over my calories on the weekends. But no more!

Eats this week:

Breakfast this week have been an egg in a cup with a spinach, almond milk, coffee and banana smoothie.

Lunches this week has been sandwiches with mustard, spinach, turkey and avocado with a side of strawberries.

Or brats since we are still eating leftovers from last Thursday. P.S. Aldi's has THE BEST brats (smoked beef brats and chicken feta spinach brats).

Snacks this week have been cottage cheese and pineapple. Not together though!

Monday night we went out with friends and I had a bowl of the cheesy vegetable tortellini soup. Not the healthiest choice, but it was the most delicious choice. And I was still at 1500 calories for the day so WINNING.

Tuesday night we had chicken curry with a side of Brussels. A favorite in our house. This time I added chickpeas and it was a great addition. We were also out of rice so I made quinoa and G and I both decided we will eat it with quinoa from now on!

Wednesday we had small group and we brought over pizza. We had watermelon for dessert and I was still under my calories!

Thursday night we grocery shopped and grabbed Jimmy Johns sandwiches for dinner.

I can't believe you love counting calories, I hate it! Trying to make a recipe and then I'm doing all these fractions, no thanks. But I agree, it is good to figure out what works for you and what doesn't. Good luck!

Glad you found what works best for you! I'm the opposite - I hate counting calories. I found the Whole30 program and it was perfect for me! No counting and I was never hungry. It was truly life changing! I'm down 29 pounds (lost 19 the first month!) 10 more pounds to go - and that's it! I know I won't gain it back because I don't even want to eat like I did before. I absolutely love it. It's great when you find what works for you.
