Fit Friday

(via)

The workouts:

I started running this week even though I don't love it. Or even like it. But I was in the best shape of my life back when I was running everyday so I thought I would give it a go. It sure feels good when it's over. And Manny loves it! I have gone 2 miles every morning this week at 6 a.m. There is nothing more peaceful than my feet hitting the pavement. The sunshine. The quiet of the neighborhood.

The results:

Pounds Lost: 1 lb
Total: 18 lbs

I usually weigh in on Sundays but I'm already down a pound and it's not even Sunday yet. Running is definitely helping! I'm so close to 20 pounds down, eek! That is crazy! SO HAPPY.

The eats:

My breakfasts this week have been a whole wheat Sandwich thin with Laughing Cow Cheese and 2 eggs in a mug.

Or a whole wheat sandwich thin with 2 hard boiled eggs.

I saw a quiche at Fresh Thyme that looked so good I almost bought it. But it was $12 so I decided not to. I went home and made my own instead. I made this 21 Day Fix recipe and it was delicious.

My morning snack has been protein powder with water. I love ice, spinach and banana but it's actually really good plain too. G finished his protein powder so I did some research and decided to order my own, lower calorie protein powder since I'm drinking it so often. I ordered Fitmiss Delight Vanilla Chai (90 calories / 16 g protein) and I'll let you know what I think.

My sweet friend that I exchange meals with made this Spinach and Cheese Spaghetti Squash and it was AMAZING. I am definitely going to be making this.

The rest of the week my lunch was a sandwich thin with Laughing Cow cheese, spinach and Dr. Praeger's Cali Veggie Burgers and a side of carrots. I found these veggie burgers at Fresh Thyme and loved that all the ingredients were veggies. They are the BEST EVER. I'm obsessed.

My afternoon snack has been a cup of Greek yogurt with a cup of blueberries and 1/2 cup Special K Low Fat Granola.

Or my favorite, cottage cheese.

With a peach. YUM!

Monday night we worked late so we didn't feel like grocery shopping or cooking. So we grabbed Subway. I haven't had Subway in ages and it was pretty darn good.

I had a 6 inch veggie sub with roasted Brussels.

Tuesday night after checking out Fresh Thyme Farmers Market we went to sushi to celebrate a friends birthday.

Wednesday we grilled broccoli and freshly made brats from Fresh Thyme. They are huge, right?! And so flavorful!

Thursday night we had Mediterranean takeout. I had 1/2 cup rice with 2 falafels and 3T of hummus. I also had a side of yellow peppers. Hit. The. Spot.

I tried Zevia from Fresh Thyme because I thought it was sparking water like La Croix, but it's a soda. No calorie and no artificial sweetener, but still a soda. And after drinking La Croix so often this was such a huge change. Too sweet. I'm not the biggest fan, but G loves it.

How are you guys doing? I feel like I got my groove back. I'm enjoying the journey again. Seeing the scale move again. Loving the food I'm eating.

I cant wait to hear what you think about that protein powder. I'm always looking for a good one that isn't high in calories.

So what does laughing cow cheese count? How many for what container? Blue?
