Weekend Recap

This weekend was another great one. It was one of those weekends that your abs hurt because you laughed hard a lot. The best, right? In the words of Audrey Hepburn, "I love people who make me laugh. I honestly think it's the thing I like most, to laugh. It cures a multitude of ills. It's probably the most important thing in a person."

It started Friday night when I hosted a girls night with my lake house girls. We ate appetizers and drank wine and talked the night away and laughed a lot. It was a great night.

Saturday we slept in and took Manny for a super long walk. Afterwards we went outside to relax and Manny passed out. I think he is finally starting to like being on the deck with us which is a very good thing. Last year he would just sit at the door the entire time. This year he's embracing the deck life.

G grilled us burgers and asparagus for lunch and then he went to watch soccer and I stayed on the deck to read.

Then we got ready for my friend Kate's Murder Mystery Dinner Party.

Bogus Fortunado and Rotunda Immaculata.

The girls.

The boys.

So the game is How to Host a Murder and we each had our own booklet about our character and Kate, the host, read the introduction to set the stage. There were four rounds and each round we would find more about our character. Things we didn't want the others to know, but if they asked we had to tell. Things we had to tell them during the round. It was a lot of fun. The game was well written and everyone got into it which made it even more fun. We all got into character and had a blast trying to solve the murder. Even when we took a break to eat dinner we would still talk about the game and try to figure everything out. It was seriously so much fun! G was the only one to correctly guess the killer and Kate was the killer which she loved. Such a fun night!!

We didn't get home until after 1 a.m. so I woke up so tired. Needless to say, Sunday was very low key. We walked Manny, I did some reading on the deck, we made chicken fajitas for lunch (and leftovers for the week), and I binge watched Parenthood. It was just what I needed after a busy week and weekend.

It was a great weekend. My only complaint was it just went way too fast. How was your weekend? Have you ever done a murder mystery dinner?
