July Goals

Month 2 of summer is already underway. Crazy, right? It seriously needs to slow down because there is still so much I want to do! Here is my list of goals for July. You will notice I have kept some the same because they are becoming habits and that is great. That is the whole reason I wanted to start making goals for each month.

1. Do a morning devotional every morning. This has become so much easier to do consistently now that my hours have changed and I have more time in the morning. I am doing TheJesus Calling now and I am loving it.

2. Read three books a month. I have been on such a reading kick lately and I just cannot get enough. Seriously, I barely watch TV anymore because my nose is always stuck in a book. Love it! Right now I’m reading Carry On, Warrior and I just adore it. I don’t agree with all of it, but I just enjoy and respect Glennon’s honesty and wisdom so much.

3. Take one day trip a month. I didn't do this last month and I regret it. I’m keeping it on here so I can actually check this off the list this month. It is always a highlight of my summers so we need to actually do it!

4. Go to the Farmer’s Market. We have a great little Farmer’s Market every Sunday morning and we used to go after church, but we haven’t gone once this year. It is nice that a few co-workers bring their veggies from their gardens in, but I need to get some fresh eggs from the market and just enjoy the experience of it all.

5. Walk Manny every morning. This has definitely become a habit we started that I want to keep it up. The weather has been just perfect in the mornings and Manny is becoming the best little walker.

6. Cook one new recipe a week. This is another habit I have started that I want to keep up. This month I plan to try some new crock pot recipes so we don’t get bored of the same old same old. Maybe even try to step it up to two recipes a week.

7. Go see a movie. I cannot even tell you the last time we went to the movie theater. It has been too long and there are so many great summer blockbusters out there. I really want to see the new Tom Cruise movie or any action movie will do.

8. Spend more time at the lake. Any lake. Kayak. Hike. Lay out. Read a book. Just enjoy the beautiful body of water and the sunshine and the warmth and savor it because pretty soon it will be cold and the water will be iced over.

What are your goals this month?

I love our local farmer's market. I need to be better about visiting it more often.

I finally wrote out my goals for the month. And although I could add a bit more, hopefully this will help hold me accountable.
