Weekend Recap

This weekend was a good one. Friday night we picked up Chinese food and ate dinner on the deck. We slept in on Saturday and then went for a good walk, did some yard work and then sat on the deck for a bit. We went to visit my brother and SIL later that evening. We sat on the patio and enjoyed lime-a-ritas, chips and salsa and caught up. We haven't seen each other in forever so it was fun to chat.

My SIL made the most delicious chimichangas for dinner with black beans and rice and lots of toppings. So. Good. We talked more, played a few rounds of Catchphrase (with the girls crushing the boys), played cards and hanging out until well past midnight. We spent the night and on Sunday morning we went to brunch at Mae's.

I had the Goat Cheese, Spinach & Red Pepper omelette. I'm not even kidding when I tell you it was the best omelette I ever had. It was definitely worth the wait! I highly recommend this place if you are ever in the area! It is just one of those hole-in-the-wall gems with really good, fresh food.

We stopped at Trader Joe's before heading home to stock up on our favorites before heading home. We came home and put up the gazebo:

We even put up the tube lights we purchased last year, but never put up. They look amazing! We ate our left over chimichangas my  brother and SIL sent home with us and enjoyed this incredible weather.

The weekend did end on a sad note. We got a call and found out the dog we often dog sit (and were supposed to dog sit this month) passed away. He wasn't even our dog, but we were deeply saddened.

He was a good dog. The sweetest dog you would ever meet. Playful. Goofy. Loyal. He would follow Garth around everywhere he went.

He was spoiled. Oh how Garth loved to spoil him! Yes, that is Garth hand feeding him carrots.

He was loved. Toby - you were a good dog and we are going to miss you. Enjoy doggy heaven! We will see you on the other side!
