Garth and I watched Argo
last weekend and it was a really good movie. We loved it and were glad to see
it win best picture last weekend.

I was watching Drop 5 Pounds with Good Housekeeping on the
Cooking Channel on Saturday and a psychologist was on talking about emotional
eating. She talked about realizing how good you feel when you are eating
healthy and taking care of yourself. Well, Garth and I ate really healthy this
past weekend. We ran 3 miles on Saturday and did The Shred on Sunday. We felt
so good. We slept like babies. We kept focusing on how GOOD we felt taking care of
ourselves and it really eliminated any temptation to not workout or to not eat
home cooked meals.

This weekend was a fun one. Garth and I had a date night
Friday night. We watched our shows, chatted and enjoyed each other’s company.
We have started playing ping pong together and, not to brag or anything, but I
have been on a roll and beating him. Saturday we went to dinner with friends we
haven’t seen in a long time and it was really good to reconnect. Sunday we
celebrated my aunt’s 70th birthday at Olive Garden (my favorite
restaurant) and had a lot of fun catching up with family we haven’t seen in a
while. My mom made my aunt this beautiful cake:

We are debating about joining a health club. It is pretty
expensive. But. But! They have unlimited fitness classes, four pools,
restaurants, hot tubs, sauna, steam room, racquetball, handball, etc on top of
all the usual gym equipment. It would be such a great way for us to get in
shape. Not to mention how much fun Garth would have playing racquetball and
handball all the time. It would keep us active, help us lose the weight, and it
would be so much fun to enjoy the pools. Especially in the summer! Decisions,
decision!

Speaking of decisions, we are still so undecided on where to
go on vacation this year. We are planning on going when we lose the weight as a
reward. We were thinking about renting a house in Southern Florida, but it is
cheaper to go to an all-inclusive in the Dominican Republic so we may do that
instead. Why is it so hard for us to make a decision? I know we’ll find the
right place for us. It is fun just to look now as inspiration to get back to
our goal weights.

My hair is getting long again. Thank goodness. I cut it last
June and donated my hair so it was for a good cause. But I just don’t have the
face for short hair. And there is so much more I can do with my hair when it’s
long.

We are starting a new Bible Study series this week. We just finished up Crazy Love by Francis Chan and are beginning Who is This Man? The Unpredictable Impact of the Inescapable Jesus by John Ortberg.

Hey, there is a great website that has really cheap and good places to rent. www.vrbo.com I rented a 2 bedroom, 1 bath condo in HI for $100 a night. It was walking distance to the beach and right off the main drag in a small town on Maui. You should really look into it for any place you want to go.
Good luck.
Being a Florida girl I'm pretty partial to my state, haha!!! I will say, there are so many GORGEOUS places in South Florida!!!!!! :) Just sayin'!!!
VRBO is such a great resource for Florida rentals; however, we opted for a DR all-inclusive this year & got a great deal! I know we couldn't have traveled to Florida, rented a place, and had all the food & drinks we wanted for what it would have cost in Florida!
