Hand Holding

I read yesterday in my Real Simple magazine that 75 percent of couples who have been together between one and five years still hold hands a few times each week, as reported in The Normal Bar, a collection of relationship data from nearly 100,00 people. Those paired up longer are less likely to hold hands with only 45 to 47 percent of couples holding hands after more than a decade of commitment. But research shows holding hands can lessen stress. Interesting!

Garth and I have been married five years next month and we still hold hands often. I hope we never stop holding hands. It makes me feel safe. Secure. Comforted. Protected. My parents have been married over 30 years and I still catch them holding hands. It always makes me happy when I see couples holding hands. It is such a sweet, innocent sign of affection.

What about you? Do you still hold hands with your significant other?

We're 2 years in and we hold hand often. Sometimes when we're sitting on the couch he'll just reach over and grab my hand. And pretty much always when we're out. I love it! And I hope we never stop!
