Just Some Thoughts

I always thought we were on the five year plan for kids, but when the five year mark is only six months away and we're still not ready I can't help but wonder "What is wrong with us?" It is a question I've had on my mind a lot lately. A dark cloud looming over me. Will we be ready in six months? What if we aren't? Especially when all of my friends seem to be pregnant or caring for newborns or about to start trying. I have the best husband ever though. He always says, "If we aren't ready for kids it just means God has something else in store for us. Like running this marathon, getting healthy, planning a mission trip." Isn't he wise? Always bringing me back to the big picture and calming me down. It is not about me. I need to look at the bigger picture.

On a much lighter note, I got a new cell phone case for $3 on amazon. Garth and I got our phones almost a year ago and we both had black, generic cases. Well, the last few weeks Garth has been taking my phone on accident. I decided to resolve this issue and getting a case. It is sparkly, glittery, girly and fun and I know Garth will not confuse it for his phone.

We thought our sprinklers were broken so we just weren't watering our grass. Great solution, huh? And with the lack of rain our grass was seriously dying. Now that our grass is looking horrible, Garth called our sprinkler guy and he gave Garth a simple fix. And just like that our sprinklers are working again and Garth is obsessed with turning our grass into lush green again. It is cute watching him turn the sprinklers on each morning and sitting on the deck with his coffee and watching the different zones come on. Ahhhh life in the suburbs.

Ever since the crock pot fiasco I have had no desire to cook. I know this needs to change because with Garth running four to five miles a night, he can't be grilling every night. The boy is going to get burned out. I hate that after I fail I fear failing again and think "why try?" I know that's not healthy and I'll get back into it soon because I have to. But for now, I'll enjoy Garth grilling and dinners on the deck.

My favorite song of the summer is Kip Moore's "Something 'bout a Truck." Love. That. Song. It just makes me smile and start dancing.

Garth has been working on the basement and has some pretty cool stuff to hang so I'm excited to share his man cave soon. I'm also going to start grocery shopping twice a month instead of four times a month so my menus are going to be more intense so get ready for that. I'm excited to get more organized with meal planning, prepared and spend less money at the grocery store!

We are in the SAME boat about the whole kid things. We said two years after we got married, here we are going into year 4 this November. And I am FREAKED about having a baby. So, I totally feel you. We can go through it together.
I am using my crockpot today! Trying out a new recipe. I blogged about it in case you want to get back into it with that recipe. I'll let you know how it taste tomorrow!

I was always told that there is no perfect time to have children. If you wait for a prefect time it will never happen. You will never have the amount of money you want, it will never be the right time, you will never have traveled enough. If you truly want to leave it into God's hands then leave it in his hands. No birth control. If God wants you to have a child he will give it to you. If he doesn't then he won't.

Cute phone case!

I know it's tough to want to cook after a disaster in the kitchen. It's hard to get that motivation back. You can do it though!

As far as kids, it's hard not to compare to what others have going on. Garth is a wise man! God has other plans for you right now! :)

Girl there is no time frame for kids. And when we try to make one, they usually destroy it. Don't worry about it at all. It's normal to want to wait. Or not wait. You'll know when you're ready ;)

I feel like there's too much pressure on young couples to have babies [even if it's from ourselves]. In fact, I am just about to post about this haha!

LOVE the case!

Hooray for wise husbands! Mine is too :)

Garth knows what he is talking about, God has his plans, you just have to trust that you will fall neatly into it. Hard not to feel the pressure I know, but you have Garth... and an adorable new phone cover, luv it!
The kitchen fiasco? you might just feel like the best chef after you make your next meal in comparison, I know I would and I suck lol

Don't worry about the baby thing. The hubby and I were in the same position and I am literally the LAST one of all my girlfriends from high school to have a baby (even the one who never wanted to have kids has a baby!). I think that building a good foundation with your husband is VERY important. Throw a baby in there before you've done that and it becomes that much harder. Hubby and I have been together for 11 years and married for almost 5 and we're just now ready. Of course different strokes for different folks but I get nervous hearing about a friend who's pregnant after being married less than a year. All you can do is pray about it and when the time's right, i'll happen!:)
