Packing for a Trip

Confession: We were on vacation last week. Garth hates for anyone to know when we are gone. Like I can't even say we're at a movie on Facebook because then people would know we weren't home. I respect his wishes though. So I couldn't tell you we were gone, sorry friends. We had the most amazing time and I cannot wait to tell you all about it. And I will tell you all about it, I promise! I have so many pictures to sort through and amazing places to rave about.

But for now, lets talk about packing. I ate to pack, but I especially hate to unpack. That means the vacation is over and I get depressed and then to have to unpack and do laundry. Argh, does it get any worse?! I didn’t think so. Anyways, packing is a hassle too because I always over pack. I am notorious for this. For our honeymoon I bought every pair of flip flops I owned because, you know, I might need them all. Duh. And what if I don’t feel like wearing a certain shirt? You have to have back up. You want to be comfortable and you just don’t know what the weather is going to be so you must be prepared. And what if you feel like a dress instead of jeans? You get my point.

I end up overanalyzing so much about flip flops and shirts I forget the most obvious things in the first place. Like my glasses. Or my toothbrush. That’s why when I stumbled upon this little gem on Pinterest I printed it immediately.

It was a HUGE help in packing for our trip. I was organized and I didn’t forget anything essential. Like my phone charger or directions. And the planner in me loves to cross things of this list! I still over packed, but at least I had my glasses. And toothbrush.
