Happenings

Last Wednesday we went bowling with our small group. It was the first time Garth and I have ever been bowling together. We had a blast, but I am horrible. My score was 30, eesh! It was fun and I had my bowling fill for another ten years. I'm good.

On Friday night we went to The Union Bar & Kitchen in Clarkston. It was recently on an episode of Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives and the mac and cheese looked so good I couldn't stop thinking about it. You guys know how I love my mac and cheese.

How good does this look? Oh my goodness. Oh my goodness. It was incredible.

We invited some fun friends to join us and we had a blast. Good food. Good times.
While Garth was running eight miles on Saturday morning I made this broccoli cheddar quiche with brown rice crust. It was a hit!

That was the most productive thing I did Saturday. I was blissfully lazy the rest of the day. I caught up on my reality television and lounged around all day. Perfection!

On Sunday we went to church and then to my parents' house for lunch and to celebrate my grandma's 88th birthday. My dad found his old notebook recording our allowance and it was hilarious to see what we spent our money on over ten years ago. It was so true to who I am now. The saver, but always buying books. Gosh, I am such a bookworm. Some things never change.

We rented The Descendants for Sunday night and I didn't really enjoy the movie. But I loved that the movie took place in Hawaii. They even went to Kauai which is where Garth and I honeymooned. They even stayed in Princeville which is where we stayed. The fountain in the movie is right by the entrance to the condos we stayed in and while George Clooney is walking on the beach they show a bluff in the distance and that is THE bluff we stayed on. Crazy! It is so funny how seeing a place you have been can create such a longing to go back.

I have to admit that I didn't like the Descendants either. The language was terrible but the scenery and eye candy were the only thing that kept me watching!
