We have had a blank red... er, merlot... wall for over a year now. And it is starting to drive me crazy. I remember when we first bought the house I found this three panel piece of art work at Bed, Bath, & Beyond that I adored. The problem? It was $300! I'm too cheap for that and even was I was tempted to purchase it I found out it wasn't even sold anymore.

Fast forward a couple months ago and I found this little craft on pinterest. I'm not very crafty, but I figured Garth and I could do this. After some spray painting and crown molding painting under our belt we were more than ready to tackle this little project.

We did encounter a couple problems though. First, we could not find a stencil large enough to fit on three canvases at any craft store. Solution? We purchased a wall art decal. I think it made things slightly more difficult because we had to measure, cut, and lay the decal on each canvas separately.

But I am very pleased with the outcome. It was a risky little adventure. It could have ended badly, but I love the end result.

And here is the after:

A $45 project that saved me $255. Money well spent! The breakdown: $25 for the wall art decal at JoAnn's and $20 for all three white canvases, which were on sale 50%!!! That was $12 per canvas board on sale for $6 each. A DIY craft success AND saving money makes my heart very happy!
