Fit Friday!

It is official. I have gained ten pounds since Myrtle Beach. That is really annoying! I have the hardest time maintaining my loss. So I am joining the lovely Erika on the 10 Pound Challenge. I need to lose this weight and keep. It. Off. For. Good.

I have been eating healthy this week with low calorie meals with tons of veggies and keeping my portions and snacking in check. I have been working out for an hour a day and so I hope to have a loss next week!

Garth and I are thinking of getting P90X, but for now we are both running and watching our calorie intake. I cannot tell you how much easier it is to lose weight when Garth is on board with me. We encourag each other, work out together, and snack on the same healthy foods. He will even eat my low calorie dinners and enjoy them! I will share my meals on Monday since I will be meal planning this weekend. Any favorite low calorie meals you recommend?

Sorry to hear you are frustrated :( I just wanted to share with you that I had those same disappointments with weight loss and maintenance. It's annoying!

I don't know if you are welcome to suggestions but the long workout/low calorie combination doesn't really work and just results in weight gain in the end. Have you considered short, REALLY intense workouts [ie. heavy lifting and interval training] and trying to cut down on unnecessary carbs? Try to eat real, whole food and stay away from anything that comes out of a box. I found that I lose weight SO EASILY this way and still feel satisfied. I know it's not for everyone but in my experience, it's the quickest, easiest way to get to the body you want.

I think it's great that you and Garth are getting healthier together. It is always better when you have that support. You will get those 10 pounds off before you know it!

There is a WW recipe we tried recently that was really good. Here's the link to it on my blog: http://chicnpink.blogspot.com/2011/11/tasty-tuesday-bubble-up-enchiladas.html. It was super easy too.

Bummer! isn't it amazing how easily the weight creeps back on? I keep a five pound window now, and if I start getting back to that five pound mark, I go hardcore for a week or two until I'm back where I want to be. That has been th best strategy for me for keeping the weight off. (-:

I think the reason you are not able to keep the weight off is because you are so desperate to lose those ten pounds that you are really strict until you lose it and then you go right back into old habits. You are also taking pretty drastic measures to lose the weight, but not changing the way you think about food. Maintaining a weight loss is all about changing your lifestyle. Sure, it is hard at first but after awhile of really changing your lifestyle and seeing the results you want to see it becomes second nature. Best of luck on your weightloss journey.

P90x is AWESOME!!!! So easy to do at home. You just have to be dedicated to it. I did it for the 90 days and had great results!

It's hard to keep it off! My husband and I recently tried to do P90x while training for a half marathon and it was waaay too hard. Not necessarily the physical side of it, but we just didn't have time for it all! But, we're going to pick P90x back up after the half marathon- I would totally recommend it! It's a wonderful all-around work out!

Working out with the hubby is super fun too! I even quit my gym membership today because we're doing so much together at home- it's a great quality time activity! Happy healthiness!

I just joined Weight Watchers so that I could lose this baby weight and then some. In 2 weeks I lost 4.5lbs and it is teaching me a better way to eat without depriving myself.

I highly suggest www.skinnytaste.com. It is the one site that I use for pretty much ALL my recipes now. Also, I use hungrygirl.com.

We are also doing P90X on top of it. I agree, it is much simpler when your husband is in on it with you.

I'd like to ditto what Lil Woman said, "keep at it, it will come off" (slightly paraphrased)
