Lawn Talk.

I'm not sure what happened. It had been really cold and then all of a sudden the grass is green...and long! Our neighbors are all fertilizing and mowing and we feel unprepared.

After tons of research and asking for advice from my dad we finally took the leap and ordered our lawn mower. It should be here in about 3 days and we'll have to start taking care of our .23 acres.

It doesn't seem like much, but with a steep incline in our backyard we are feeling a bit overwhelmed. This week has consisted of lots of trips to Home Depot and Meijer price shopping mowers, fertilizer, etc.

Let the fun of home ownership begin!

Oh yardwork is fun...most of the time! I've actually gotten to where I enjoy spending time in the yard making everything look wonderful each week...it's great quality time for Hubby & I as well! Have fun!

The same thing happened to us! It was cold and then all of the sudden we realized our grass looked more like a wild field than a yard. Unfortunately hubs was on an away rotation and I don't know how to use our lawnmower (sad I know) so for two weeks until hubs got back our lawn was crazy! Even worse...the neighbors kept mowing theirs making ours even more noticeable!

Ha - I don't know if it was suppose to BUT, this made me laugh. Us Texas folks have been mowing the lawn since late February ;) Yard work is a blast and you will quickly find that Garth will probably take over most of it because it seems to make the men of the world feel more manly to have a nice looking yard. Enjoy! It really is fun! (I have flowerbed duty and love it!)

Mowing a lawn...Not my favorite thing. Growing up we had to have a riding lawn mower and well after the time the yellow jackets can up my pants leg and stung me I do not mow the lawn. Not on my list of fun!

I let Big Man take care of all outdoor stuff, besides decorating :)

We just upgraded our lawn mower to a battery operated one and it showed up a few weeks ago. Adam loves it. Lighter weight, no more smelly (expensive) gas or clutches to pull! We got this one:

Happy grass cutting!

We will be joining you this week! We borrowed my inlaws mower two weeks ago when we moved into our new house--time to buy our own!
