End of an Era.

Last week Garth turned in his Chrystler Sebring for a new car. It was bittersweet. He had the car for over 7 years and had surpassed 100,000 miles without putting much money into the car at all. But the car was making noises, having trouble starting, and parts had fallen off that needed to be repaired. We had been looking for awhile, but a deal came up last week that we could not refuse. We were offered more for the car than we expected and for the first time in Garth's entire life, he's driving a brand new car. He deserves it and I have peace of mind knowing he is driving 45 minutes to work in a reliable car.

But it's sad. Garth picked me up in that Sebring for our first date. We road tripped to New York City in that car. I remember Garth pulling up to my parent's house in that car throughout our dating years. I rember house hunting in that car. I loved that car, but not as much as Garth did. It was his "other baby" as he put it.

And yet it's exciting to think about all the new memories we will make in this new car. But it is an end of an era.

:) I know how you feel, I am rather attached to my car-I bought it in immaculate condition with 100K on it and have almost put another 100K on it. Hubs car recently hit 200K so I know we're both going to be looking for new cars soon...so sad to think about though, I love our cars!

Congrats on the new car! I know what you mean about being attached to a car, though. I've been there :)
