Fit Friday!

Sorry I didn't get to posting last Friday. I maintained last week but this week I lost two pounds, woohoo! I have been counting calories (even on weekends) but allowing myself one cheat meal a week. I finished up the 30 days of The Shred and checked out The Last Chance Workout with Jillian Michaels. I didn't think it was as hard as I thought it would be, but it was a nice change and I did work up quite a sweat. It was a nice change for sure!
I had a revelation this week: I am just not one of those girls that can eat anything and be skinny. I have to work at it to get where I want to be. I know that may seem obvious but it was important to realize that because I forget that often. If I want to be at my goal then I have to watch what I eat and work out and that is the reality of it. I'm not sure if that even makes sense.
Anyways, how did you all do this week?

Congrats, sounds like you're doing really well with your goals. I'm down 1.4 lbs this week, which I'm pretty proud of given that my eating was not the best.

That makes total sense. Not everyone (including me) can eat what they want & not pay the price.

I agree with you - and I think a lot of people are the same way. I know I get jealous of friends/family that seem to be able to eat whatever and never gain. But that is not me. Best to accept it and move on! And I always allow myself a little treat at the end of the day anyway :)

I'm actually down a pound this week, which is super-surprising because it's that time of the month. And that never happens!

It's taken me a long time to realize that I'll always have to work super-hard to look the way I want to. I don't think that's an "easy" thing to a) learn and b) remember, so kudos to you! And congrats on the maintaining & losing!

I'm not one of those girls either - its unfortunate but it teaches you to value the hard work that you put into it! There is a girl at my work who is super teensy and can easily put away a big mac with a 6 piece chicken nugget and super-sized french fry with a REGULAR pop and not gain an ounce- I just look at a french fry and gain a pound! But I know that food isn't any "healthier" for her than it is for me.

Way to go! I'm definitely one of those people who has to watch what I eat so I don't gain weight. So. Frustrating. So looking forward to warmer weather so we can get outside and walk/bike/hike and all that good stuff!

Congratulations!!!! I lost 2 this week as well. 5.5 total so far. I am eating so very healthy but wow I hate exercising and haven't had much motivation to start yet.

I'm not weighing myself till next week, but I put on my jeans on wednesday and they fit better than they did 2 weeks ago!

i've been counting calories, and watching it on weekends--which has always been my downfall--I'm planning my cheat meal tonight, so I'm eating light during the day. we can do this!!

Well... *blushes* I HAVE worked out twice in the past 3 days... doesn't that count for something? Especially since I wasn't working out at ALL this past winter. And I plan to do something today as well.

So improvement is in the air. Woot!

PS: Have you tried P90X? I think it's sooo boring. Am I crazy? I mean, I feel like I'm worknig my muscles and all, but it's soooo boring to get through the videos!

Congrats! You're doing so well! I'm trying to lose right now, and I'm getting so frustrated. I've been working out/watching what I eat and I'm UP 8lbs. I hear the whole "it's muscle" argument, but nothing fits! You keep me motivated. :)

I totally am this way, too. I can't eat whatever I want and be skinny. My sister can seriously eat whatever she wants, and she has a six pack and like NO fat! She's in great shape but eats fast food every day! HA! She also works out a ton because she's a cheerleader! But still! I guess she has a super fast metabolism!
