Life as a Homeowner...

ROCKS! I love it so much. I'm not gonna lie, the first few nights were hard to sleep because it was so darn quiet. I kept expecting to hear a neighbor's door slam, or hear the water running from the neighbor's shower. But there was nothing. Silence. Peace. Quiet. Bliss.
Now I hear shoveling or the hum of the neighbor's snow blower. Garth and the next door neighbor talking. The grumbling of the snow plow or the garbage truck. Noises of life in the suburbs. Love it.
Settling into life as a homeowner has been easy. We enjoy walks around our subdivision, talking to our neighbors, shoveling OUR driveway, cleaning OUR house. Last Monday I came home to this little scene:
Do I have the best husband or what?! Garth made Cooking Light's Beefy Corn and Black Bean Chili. Oh my goodness, it was delicious! It was perfect for a cold winter night and so easy to make. Confession: We loved it so much that we doubled the recipe the next day and ate it every night for the whole week. Life is good.

Congratulations again! I love being a homeowner. It definitely comes with it's own set of headaches, but it's all worth it.

And what a fabulous husband to make something so yummy! What a treat :)

Hehe you guys are cute... one of my favorite parts of being a homeowner so far is shoveling my own driveway too (how weird is that)

Oh my gosh - that looks SO good and soooo tasty!! I'm definitely trying it. Thanks!! :-)

And isn't it awesome owning your own home? I can't wait to have a SFH so we don't have all of our neighbor drama. But the move into owning was a great step for us, for sure. Here's to more happy memories of simple weekends!!
