Operation Get Fit!

Well, I am bummed to report that I'm maintaining. Gah! It's so frustrating because I'm SO close to my goal yet it feels so far away. But if I'm being honest I know that I need to step up my game because I know these are the hardest pounds to lose. And if I'm being honest I would tell you that I do really good during the week but I get a little out of control on the weekends. And if I'm being honest I would tell you that we had a "buy 1 heart shaped pizza get 1 free" coupon and I ate my entire heart shaped pizza in one sitting. Yikes. I out ate Garth.

Here are the stats:
Current Weight Loss: -20 lbs
Goal: 6 to 11 lbs to go!

When I told Garth I had maintained this week, this was his response: "I can't belive you didn't gain after you ate an entire pizza. I'm impressed!" Gotta love how he keeps things in perspective. All this to say, no more overeating and getting out of control. I really need to buckle down and I cannot afford a cheat meal like that. In truth, I don't think my body can handle that again either! I was so sick afterwards. Anyways, I'm going to work really hard so I can report a loss next week! It's been a year and I really want to be at my goal by mid-March so if you have ANY tips or tricks please help a sister out. Thanks, love!

I'm a tiny bit impressed by your pizza eating! I must know though, was it the heart shaped pizza from Papa Murphy's? Those things are huge!

Congrats on your maintaining:)

Girl, you have done a fab job with losing the weight. I too get out of control on the weekends, I have put a kabosh on that. Pizza sounds yummy!

I could eat a pizza solo, it's a good feat to accomplish! :)

Seriously, I think that for me, I need someone to contact when I feel like cheating or when I feel sloth-y or when I need extra motivation. Maybe that would help?

I know it can be disappointing, but breaking even is always better than gaining. Keep your chin up, it will happen!

Nice job! You'll get there, don't worry! Way to go for sticking with it though! It's better than I can say for myself! haha

LOL. I love Garth's response! Don't worry about maintaining. You're doing great. I wish I had some tips, but I struggle with the same problem as you. I eat pretty well on the days that I am working, but my days off (my "weekends") I feel like I blow it...

I'm working on mixing junk food cravings like fish sticks, etc. with healthy foods like salads or veggies in steak of sweet potato fries, or extra servings of my main dish.

I agree with Garth. You ate a whole pizza and didn't gain?! That's impressive lady!

20 lbs is such an accomplishment! It is going to get harder to lose. I have never lost that much so I don't really have any tips or tricks. You gotta mix it up! Run farther or faster or eat even less calories. We don't have papa murphys in souther cali! I miss it so much!

oh honey, I wish I had tips but I can't seem to loose anything. In fact, I think I'm finding what you're losing!

Good luck

Good for you losing 20 lbs - try to focus your thoughts on that more than the last few. That said, I remember reading once that when John Travolta needed to lose weight for a role, he would just eliminate 1/3 of whatever he was going to eat at the beginning of the meal. You are probably really watching your portions already, but at least just to get you to your goal by mid-March this might help.
I, too, am trying to lose weight (15 lbs) by my birthday at the end of March so I'll make sure I check your blog frequently to keep me on track.
Have a great weekend!

Fantastic job losing the weight you have already! Those last few pounds are always the hardest and the ones that keep you on your toes as well.
The best thing I have always found is you need to shock your system and get it going again. By that I mean something completely out of the ordinary one day and then the next day you should start feeling a difference. You can take a high fat food day(which you may have already done with the pizza) and no exercise that day or you can go for a workout and whatever you do(bike, treadmill, run) do it as hard as you can for as long as you can and shock your system. Then the next day go back to exactly what you were doing before and throw an extra 10 min workout in somewhere. It took me an additional month to get those last few pounds off but it worked and doing it the right way it is easy to keep it off now also! Goodluck and congrats again on doing such a great job so far!

Good for you to stickin' with this! You can do it, you can do it!

Ok, like the others...I'm impressed by the fact that you can down an entire pizza and not gain at all! That's an accomplishment all by itself.

I've heard from a few people that when they hit the plateau they take a break for about a week, not to go crazy but to just let thier bodies rest for a bit, and then start back up with something different and they usually start losing again... it worked for them, maybe it'll work for you!
And congrats on doing so well so far!

Probably no new tips here, but drink lots of water girl!!! Also, I think I remember reading that you keep a calorie journal? if so, that is awesome and keeps you on track! Just keep your body moving and try not to eat any later then 7:00 p.m...This is hard sometimes for me when I work most evenings. Good job on the pounds lost and maintaining is better then gaining, although can be frusterating:) Good luck!
