Luxury.

You just don't even know what a luxury it is to have a dishwasher, washer, and dryer after not having one for 1.5 years. You just don't know. Garth and I made veggie lasagna last night and the clean up was not even 5 minutes. Oh, and the dryer buzzed just as we finished loading the dishwasher and Garth and I took it out and folded it. You just don't know what a luxury that is, and I cannot believe we ever went without it.

I agree! It was the best thing ever to have a washer and dryer IN my house! I hated carrying it down the stairs and to my car...annoying!

Oh girl! I do know what it's like to not have a dishwasher! It is terrible. We didn't have one for 3 years. I'm so happy for you and your hubby on your new place! Congrats and enjoy!

I feel that way about the little sprayer on the kitchen sink. We didn't have one at the apt, so now it's my favorite thing!

I completely understand. When my husband and I moved into our house, we had a dishwasher for the first time and a washer/dryer in our house...it was amazing!!

I totally understand! Luke and I are lucky enough to have a washer and dryer, but I have been without a dishwasher for a year now. I cannot WAIT until the day when I have one. I have a feeling I'll be cooking a lot more often, knowing that clean up won't be quite so horrific!

I know what you mean! We didn't have those things for the first year of our marriage either. It sure makes things so much easier! I'm so glad to hear the move went well. The kitchen looks great and I can't wait to see more photos!

I am so spoiled by our last apartment. It had a washer, dryer and a dishwasher, and this was not some über-expensive luxury aprtment either! That is the standard I will hold all future apartments to, and I fear I am going to end up pretty disappointed.

I agree. I didn't have a dishwasher in my last house. Sucked big time.

BUT when you said "..Garth and I folded it.." THATS when I realized what you really have.

I envy your relationship. :)

Dishwashers = saving Grace! I don't have one at school, but when I'm home, I use my mom's like no tomorrow!

I can definitely appreciate it...I'm about to take a bag full of laundry over to my bf's because I CAN NOT wait around for the laundry room at my apartment complex! Someday I will have one and never take it for granted.

Ginger said...

I can totally relate. Jeremy and I have a dishwasher but no washer and dryer yet. I long for the days of not spending an entire evening at the laundromat. So happy for you.

Hannah said...

yeah, I've yet to experience that luxury while being married. I do dream about it though and can't wait until that day comes!

I can only imagine!! We've never, ever had a dishwasher, so I get by just fine with doing the clean up... sometimes I even sickly enjoy it. Weird, I know! I don't know how people survive without washer/dryers in their homes or apartments... I would go crazy having to drag stuff to the laundromat!

So happy for you guys :)

By the way...to answer your question:

http://www.google.com/analytics/

Check it out! Don't ask me how to install it though :)

I found a website when I first started that gave step by step directions...but have since not been able to locate it. I bet if you google it though you could figure it out.

I cannot wait to have a washer and dryer in my unit! T-minus 1 month and 10 days! Haha :) Not that I'm counting or anything ;)

Sara said...

I can't believe you ever lived without! I always wonder how people survived before electricity and modern technology.

We lived without a dishwasher for the first 4.5 years of marriage - what a DRAG! When we moved to a house that had one, I was surprised by how much more silverware I needed, since it was usually 24 hours before we ran the dishwasher. Are you finding that, too?

Sarah said...

Oohh! How exciting!!! It's the simple things in life, right?

Kate said...

So excited for you! I don't have a dishwasher so I KNOW how hard it is. Ha ha!

Girl, don't I know it. We've been going without a dryer, dishwasher or even a microwave for about 9 months now, and I don't know if we're going to get any of those things soon. I hate hanging up clothes to dry, hate hand-washing dishes, and hate cooking popcorn on the stove! But I guess when we get all that stuff I won't take it for granted :)

Ohh I could not ever imagine not having any of those! Kudos on living without them for so long!

Jon and Steph said...

Wow, I don't know how you did it either!! Glad to hear you're loving your new place. You guys sound like a great team, folding laundry together ;)

Casey (@ Chaos and Cardboard) said...

Whoa! That's crazy! I whine because we have baby size appliances- but at least we have them! :)

Perfectly Imperfect said...

I have no idea how you survived that long. Not having a dishwasher in a house means I will not be living there. And I hated apt. living when I had to go back and forth to the laundry room. I'm way to lazy for that!!

Lauren said...

Girl, YAY for moving on up in the world, haha!!!! :O)

I can't imagine living without those luxuries! We were without a W/D for a month and I hated it! Congrats on the new place.

Sososo excited!! Do you absolutely love the new place? Pictures! :)

We're still in the midst of setting up the new place ourselves and the AC, the dishwasher, the two bathrooms, the view, everything feels so luxurious too!

I am so excited for you! It must be so nice to have all of that extra space and the new appliances!!
