Camping 2009

Camping on Memorial Day has become a tradition for Garth and I. I'm not gonna lie, it was tough getting used to "roughing it" after staying in luxury hotels for our anniversary and my birthday. But once I got over the spiders and moths (ok, I never really got over them) and walking half a mile to the restroom (or so it seemed) I had a blast.

We stayed in the cutest town in southwest Michigan. The downtown was quaint with lots of fun shops and restaurants and nestled right on Lake Michigan. There were these statues everywhere and Garth called this one my boyfriend:Garth loves the pajama llama:

There is nothing better than sitting outside on Lake Michigan sipping Oberon:

New Age White may be my new fave wine:
Cheers to summer with our first ice cream cone:
There is nothing like sand between your toes after a long winter:
We heart Lake Michigan:
On the pier:
At our camp site roasting marshmellows:

Garth's pride and joy:
Garth being all Man vs. Wild:Garth frying up some eggs the next morning:Yummo:Ready for the beach:

After a relaxing day at the beach, Garth grilled up some chicken and veggies:

The End. I only got pictures from the first day, but the next 2 days were just repeat of that. Grill. Go to the beach. Come back and grill again. Roast marshmellows. Go to sleep. It's the simple life and I'm not complaining.

That sounds like so much fun. I think I might enjoy camping if we could leave the campsite and do something besides fishing and hiking!

That looks like lots of fun. I keep trying to go camping but ever since the pre-iraq training and then 15 months in Iraq, mark hasn't been into roughing it. Maybe one day!
