I Voted.

I woke up at 5a.m. and did pilates. Garth woke up at 6a.m. and made us coffee and we prayed. This day is exciting/scary/historical and in need of lots of prayer. I'm nervous, but as my pastor reminded us, whoever becomes president is not in control of this country. God is in control.

I went to the polls at 6:55a.m. thinking I would beat the rush. Ha! There was a line around the building. I stood in line for an hour, which I didn't think was too bad. The line moved pretty fast and everything seemed under control. I even got in some good reading and met some friendly ladies.

I heard only 1/4 of 20-somethings voted in the last election. This stat is disappointing! But I was happy to see A LOT of young people at the polls today!

I saw a lot of husbands and wives together in line, and I was sad Garth wasn't with me. He did drive by on his way to work and wave at me waiting in line. Next election he will have his citizenship and vote with me. WOOHOO!!!

As I filled out my ballot I heard a click and looked up. A man with a huge camera had taken a picture of me. I might be in the newspaper tomorrow!!!!

I am wearing my "I Voted" sticker proudly and made a pit stop at Starbucks to get my free coffee on my way to work. I. AM. WIRED.

NOTE: I do not like to discuss politics. This does not mean I didn't do my research before going to the polls because I did! And all I will say is: Go McCain/Palin!!!

Yay for voting! And have I mentioned that I almost cry with jealousy every time you share your wonderful morning routine with your husband! It sounds just precious. Savor it, for me!

And citizenship?? Do tell! Have I not read far enough back in your archives to solve this mystery for myself?? :)

Ps-I tagged you, go check out my blog!

I somehow avoided the long line today - Justin and I were in and out in less than 15 minutes. On my way to get my free coffee now! I want your morning energy!!!! That is so awesome that your husband is excited about getting to vote!

Lindsey, you amaze me! Pilates at 5am and at the polls at 6.55am! WOW! I need some of your
"morningness" :) I agree with you about the scariness of this election. Even more so in California, we are praying and focusing on Prop 8. Very, very scary! It will be interesting to see how this day ends.

Glad to hear you voted...I'm pretty nervous myself! Trying to keep perspective that God controls even the things that we can't see!
