Houses

Garth and I are pretty much as opposite as can be on the trivial issues. For proof go here.
And now we have one more thing to add to the list: our taste in houses.
Garth likes houses like this:
I like houses like this:

But we both agree this is our dream house:
We can dream, right? This house is in Hawaii and would make a perfect house/scuba shop, no? Someday...

The house dreaming days are far in the future for us though. After much discussion we have decided we are going to enjoy apartment life (READ: cheap, easy maintainance) for a few more years so we can do more traveling and saving. In about three years, when we're thinking of starting a family, we'll buy a nice house. Can't wait!

Love your new header. Did you make it yourself?

We bought a house after one year of being married, and we are doing okay financially, but our mortgage is twice as much as our apartment rent was. We were able to pay off debt and save so much at the apartment. And, our house is so much more work. Sometimes I miss our little first apartment!

Our time line is about what yours is. We can keep dreaming, right?

I love your cute new header! That is adorable!

And I have to say...I like Garth's dream house better, haha! I am a sucker for traditional brick. We are living the renters life for a while longer, as well. But, making the big plunge next fall, eek!

Have yall found a new place yet?

Save Save Save...did I say Save? Now is the perfect time to buy though with the # of foreclosures and home prices at an all time low but you have to do what is best for you and your family. Owning a house is expensive with maintenance, taxes, etc etc.

You both have great taste in homes. I'm a fan of the Greek Revival houses myself.

Love the new header by the way! You are so pretty. :)

That sounds exactly like Mr. Nola and I. I love the old New Orleans cottages-- and he is all about the new brick homes. We are luckily still renting... but I definitely forsee this to be an issue in the future.

Oh well!

XO,
Nola

My vote is for the dream house in Hawaii! LOL.

I love how you embrace your timeline. It seems everyone is racing for homes, babies, etc. I love people who take life in stride!

Thanks for the blog comments. I'm totally digging your blog, too. Just added you to the reader and now I'm trying to make my way through your posts.

My hubby and I are total opposites, too. I think that makes a marriage much more interesting. If he were like me, I'm sure he would annoy me within a week.

PS - I'd live in and love any of the above houses. =)

OMG so in love with the house you like--with you all the way :)

Hmm. I like all THREE of those houses.

It's difficult to buy a house right now because of the poor economy and the banks "situation" unless you have stellar credit, but it's not impossible. I'm sure it'll get easier with time.

Love all of the houses. . . nothing is wrong with dreaming. Mix that with saving and you will have your home.
