Wish it were Sunday because that's my fun day!

It was such a fabulous weekend and, as always, it went TOO FAST! Friday night was date night! Garth and I tried out this new Mediterranean restaurant I've been dying to try! I loved the way it looked inside! It was very classy, but the prices were very reasonable. The hummus and pita bread were the best I've ever had! Mmm I can't wait to go back and eat more. I was just eating the hummus plain at one point! The falafel sandwich was pretty darn great, but not the best I've ever had. All in all, it was a fun atmosphere and great food and we'll be back!
Friday night we relaxed to a movie, played Scrabble and hung out at our place. The pastor that married us told us it was very important to just enjoy being married and to not get involved in too many things the first year. He couldn't stress enough how the first year needed to be a lot of time together to build a solid foundation. So we took that advice! I mean, besides my relationship with Christ, my relationship to Garth needs to be the most meaningful and deepest relationship in my life so I need to invest my time in him!
I digress...Saturday we went to my parents for some good ole fashion rivalry! Michigan State v. University of Michigan. We had lots of food and there was lots of cheering, especially when State won!!!

After the game we ate dinner. My mom made this amazing chicken marinara and my brother, Eric, made these awesome potatoes. Then we played "Apples to Apples" and some card games which made for a pretty amazing Saturday!
Sunday were went to church and then out to lunch with the fam. Then Garth and I wanted to relax before a busy week! We went home and went for a walk, played cards, grocery shopped, made pizza and watched football. It was so relaxing and fun. What a great weekend...to be a Spartans fan!;)

That sounds like such a nice weekend - it is definitely good to have time for each other when you first get married. I think my hubby and I were so busy with school that we put each other second a lot to school and trust me - no good can come from that!!!

You're a smart girl! And, I second your sentiments, our relationships with the Lord are the only thing that should take precedence over my relationship with my husband. Someone once said to me, "Don't allow any intruders into your marriage (job, hobbies, other relationships, etc)." I just keep on thinking about that.

The food sounds fantastic!

And I agree, it's very good to build a strong "foundation." So very important!

I wish we could do more date nights, but hubs gigs most weekends, so it's not always possible.

I love laid back weekends with the hubby. My Mondays always feel way less stressful when I have weekends like this.

Oh and we LOVE apples to apples!

Seriously, you two are amazing at the respect you give your marriage. Love it.

Additionally, that hummus sounds fantastic . . . why did I eat all of mine?!
