My Job

I'm an event planner. I love what I do, really I do. But sometimes it is stressful. I don't always have control and I hate that! I have to expect the unexpected. I have to think on my toes. I have to be uber-organized. I have to keep on schedule.

I love the reaction I get when I tell people what I do. They get this glazed look in their eyes and say "How glamorous." It's not so glamorous today as I wait for the rest of my RSVP envelopes to come in so I can stuff the rest of the invites. I needed these invitations to go out this week because the gala is in 6 weeks. But it's almost 11a.m. and there is no sign of the RSVP envelopes!! I'm trying not to stress the small stuff.

I usually don't sleep two weeks leading up to the event. But the feeling I get when an event is over - unbelievable! I love watching all the hard work leading up to the big day all come together.

The picture above is from a golf outing I did. We are in the midst of setting up for the dinner while the guests are still out golfing. Here is a picture of during the dinner program as I had out gifts to the winners:

I admire your hard work. :) I work at a college and I plan events throughout the year. It's a tough thing to do! But I am sure they aren't nearly as big as your events! :)

That does sound like a glamorous job, but I'm sure, like all jobs, there is a fair amount of ick to work through.

I admire you because I could never do that! It does sound fun and stressful all at the same time though!

I always thought event planning would be a fun job! I even thought about starting a wedding planner business on the side but I just don't have the time.

How cool that you have a "cool" job - haha
