Life Lately: Week 46

This is what the past week looked like.

I've been distracted recently and this book had some good gems.

Fave quotes:

"How would your life be different if you looked at disappointing outcomes as enticing opportunities? Because the truth is, God knows exactly what He's doing, and He is never surprised. Disappointments are often divine redirections."

"Don't be distracted by delays. Instead, start counting on them, banking on them, embracing and enjoying them. Don't curse the wind; let it fill your sails... Release the notion that everything is going to work out the way you planned and enjoy the delightful and uncertain ride."

"What if heaven is itching to surprise you right now? What if God's plan for you is the absence of any clear plan at all? If you knew everything you needed to do, you wouldn't need faith anymore. Practice not freaking out as you watch the unexpected circumstances God brings unfolding in front of you."

"Be careful what you learn for that is what you will know. If we only learn half-truths you can only live half a life."

I make a mean breakfast sandwich.

Brrrr.

"You're worth melting for."

Bringing back sushi Monday.

My dad sent us this oldie but goodie.

Living his best life.

Sweet Potato Buddha Bowl is a favorite around here.

Snug as a bug.

Highly recommend this podcast episode.

I'm still thinking about it.

Here are a few of my takeaways:

"Discipline is looking out for future you."

"Affirmations boost dopamine, keep us going, and train our brain that our actions are meaningful and valuable."

"Jealousy is fear with a mask that says we can't have it so reprogram your brain and say 'that's for me' when you start to feel jealousy."

"Get specific on your limiting beliefs... Shame and guilt can be limiting beliefs too."

"When you level up you need to navigate and learn the rules of the new level so you won't be perfect and that's okay. The journey will get you there. Give yourself permission to not be perfect at this level. Maybe I haven't learned those skills yet, but that's okay. I just got to this level and it will take time."

"Being misunderstood is the tax you pay to be authentically you."

Mediterranean bowls are what's for dinner.

I made some jasmine rice, air fried falafels, cut up cucumbers and served it with Whole Foods garlic and hummus.

Easy and delicious.

Can you spot the deer sitting under the pine trees?

In office selfie.

Getting crafty on lunch.

It was so easy even I could do it.

I love it!

Leftover med bowl with edamame this time and just as delicious.

Sixty degree sunset on the deck.

The premise of the book was creative, but it was such a heartbreaking read and the ending was frustrating.

Fave quotes:

"The conversation feels familiar, as if a reflection of his own thoughts has grown wings and fluttered out into the world."

"Dogs don't need to live as long as humans because they're simply so good at finding the joy in life. As if we are put on this earth to extract a certain amount of happiness and can leave once the job is done."

Porch sitting.

Blanket.

Coffee on Saturday morning.

Manny and G (not pictured).

These are a few of my favorite things.

I whipped up a little egg and spinach bake...

And made breakfast burritos with cottage cheese.

I'm trying to up my protein and this was a delightful way to do it.

I couldn't resist this soap.

We raked up all the leaves and it's so gratifying to see the grass again.

Cesar salad with chicken nuggs is another easy favorite meal.

Reunited with my bestie.

We grabbed coffee and walked around town.

The sun was setting over the river as we solved all of life's problems.

I organized my pantry and I'm hopeful I'll keep it organized this time.

I feel like I have a better system so here's hoping.

NA sparkling rose and hot tub time.

This book was WILD.

I love a pink sunset.

Tried this NA margarita and it was a little sweet, but I liked it.

Tried Chipotle and found out we are Qdoba people.

We started this show and we are in.

RIP penny.

Haha.

That's how it was in our day, lol.

Times are changing.

People are so witty.

Oof.
