To catch up you can read about the road trip here and the first part of Topsail Island here.
Day three started out the best way possible. WITH DOLPHINS!!!! Can you spot them? They are on the far left side.
We spotted the dolphins as soon as we walked onto the beach. Perfect timing! The dolphins were actually swimming the same way we were going to walk so we followed them for about a mile. It was AMAZING. There was a whole pod and they were playing in the waves and one even jumped out of the water. It was incredible! Seriously. Highlight of my week.
After that eventful walk we hung out at the beach all morning swimming and lounging in our beach chairs.
We headed into Surf City to try Sears Landing. Our view wasn't terrible. There was even a sign that said not to feed the alligators which freaked these Northerns out, ha!
This was our favorite meal of the whole trip. The drinks were pretty yummy too.
I had the Fried Green Tomato sandwich (yum!) and G tried flounder for the first time and fell in love and proceeded to order it everywhere else we went, ha!
Then it was back to the beach for us. I'm serious, we spent about 35 hours on the beach this trip. It was just what we needed. Relaxing. Refreshing. Toes in the water. Sitting on our beach chairs. Taking dips. Swimming laps in the pool. Repeat.
The next day started with another walk on the beach and then we spent some beach time swimming and relaxing. Swam laps. Up to the condo for lunch. Back to the beach all afternoon.
That evening we tried out the restaurant at the top of our condo.
The views were pretty spectacular.
I had scallops and cheesy grits. So good!
The view down the elevator was pretty spectacular as well.
The next day started with a walk on the beach. Beach bummin' all morning.
Then we explored Sneads Ferry and crossed Alligator Bay.
We ate lunch at Riverview Café and were a bit disappointed by the food and views so we headed to Blackbeard's which was even worse. At least the views were pretty!
The drinks were definitely pretty, but not very tasty.
We stopped at a souvenir shop and OF COURSE I had to take this picture.
I loved the view after you get to the top of the hill going over the bridge. Bam! There's the island in all her glory.
Stay tuned for the conclusion of our trip!

My grandparents rented a house on topsail every summer until 2008. Some of my best memories are there! The recent hurricanes have been tough but the NC coast has always been resilient! So glad that y'all had such a wonderful experience!
