Behind the Times

Garth and I don't have cable.

We don't have internet.

We don't text.

We don't have iphones.

We don't have a blackberry.

We don't have a dishwasher.

But...

We do have Christ as our Savior.

We do have unconditional love for each other.

We do have a roof over our head.

We do have the love of family and friends.

And those are the things that matter and I wouldn't have it any other way.

On my mind

First off, thank you all for your sweet comments on my last post. I was afraid to post the story out of sheer humiliation, but you were all so supportive and sweet so thanks friends!!! And I truly believe we are all friends even though we haven't met in "real life." I talk about you to my husband and he enjoys reading all of your comments!

In other unrelated news, I voted (for the first time!!) for Matt Girard on American Idol. Even though he didn't do so great last night, he has a rockin' voice. But more importantly than that, my cousin was suite mates with him in college and my brother has seen him perform at the dueling piano bar he worked at and that's pretty awesome. Secretly, I want Danny Getke to win though. He lost his wife which breaks my heart, and he's a church music director. How cool is that?!

To answer the questions about Twilight, I am loving the book! Sadly I'm still reading the first book, but I'm almost done with it and it is so hard to put down!!!

Sorry this is such a random post, but I also wanted to keep you updated on my weightloss. I haven't been posting about it the last few weeks and I'm sorry! I still have been on track and working out at least an hour a day mixing cardio, weight lifting, and pilates. I also track my calorie intake and try to keep it between 1200 and 1300 per day. I weighed myself this morning and I'm down another 2 pounds!!!

Since some you asked, here is my food journal for yesterday:
Quaker Oatmeal mixed with whey protein powder (250 calories)
Apple (45 calories)
Sargento Light Cheese Stick (50 calories)
Select Harvest Italian Style Wedding Soup (220 calories)
2 celementines (90 calories)
Light and Fit Yogurt (80 calories)
Pad Thai (500 calories)
TOTAL: 1235 calories

I hope that helps. If you forget to look on the box for the calories, you can google it. Make sure you type in the brand name because it makes a difference. I do calculate drinks in there too, but yesterday I just drank water all day which helps keep me busy and not as hungry! I hope that helps.

Thankful

I am thankful for
1. Garth. My soul mate, best friend, Scrabble partner, biggest fan, comedian, and cuddle buddy. I thank God everyday for you, sweet husband of mine!!
2. Mom & Dad. They are my role models, friends, mentors, encouragers and I would not be who I am today without their love, support and guidance.
3. Brothers. I am so thankful to have wonderful brothers who make me laugh really hard and who I enjoy hanging out with.
4. In-laws. I am so blessed to have a whole new family! I am thankful for my mother-in-law, and sister-in-laws who have accepted me as family and love me. I admire, respect and adore these amazing women!
5. Friends. Thank you for always being there for me, listening to me vent, offering advice, and praying for me when I needed it most. Life would be dull without you guys!
6. Health. I will never take for granted the fact that I can run, walk and breathe.
7. Money in the bank. In this bleak economy, I am thankful Garth and I are savers.
8. Job. So thankful I enjoy what I do...and that I have a job.
9. Roof over our heads. And I love our little home!
10. Church. Thankful I can worship the great big God I serve freely in this country.
11. The opportunity to visit my grandparents in Florida for Thanksgiving.
12. My car. Did you know only 10% of the people in the world own a car?
13. Troops. Thank you for all you do and the sacrifices you make for this country.
14. Small group. What an amazing group of people I am learning from.
15. New apartment! So thankful God provided a new home for us so quickly. We move in at the end of Dec and images of paint shades and nightstands dance in my head!
16. My blog. I have enjoyed writing and documenting our lives. But most of all, I have loved meeting all of you who read it! You encourage me, inspire me, and I always look forward to your comments and reading your blogs!

Happy Thanksgiving!!! I'm off to Florida to visit the grandparents. Have a wonderful holiday and I'll catch ya'll on Monday! God bless.
