Weekend Recap
Friday started off great with a coworker bringing in donuts. YUM! After work we grocery shopped and ate leftovers and watched House Hunters together. It was a low key night, but I loved it.
Saturday I was up before 8:00 which is strange for me, but I embraced it. G made me fried eggs and I watched an episode of Hart of Dixie. As if I couldn't love the show more and now they sing. LOVE. Then I took Manny on an hour long walk. The house was due for a cleaning so I spent the next few hours deep cleaning the whole house. I switched out my Scentsy scent to cinnamon and my house is clean and smells like fall. Nothing could have made me happier.
I also decorated for fall. That really only entails hanging a wreath on the door, switching out the Scentsy, putting a big fake pumpkin on the mantle and a few mini pumpkins in the window of the kitchen. I need more!
I also switched out to my fall purse. I got this at a garage sale and it came with a matching wallet. I'm not sure if it's real since I only paid $2 but I still love it.
Manny was being his usual adorable self. I did Insanity and then read Andy Cohen's new book for a few hours. It's amazing all you can accomplish when you are up before 8:00 a.m. Then I showered and headed to the Hills to celebrate my mom's birthday.
We went to my parents and drove with them to Eric and Jess'. It was nice to catch up and chat with them. Ella was being her usual adorable self. Our thing is fishy faces. She loves when I do my fish face and mimics me which is what she is doing in the above picture. I mean, does it get any cuter?!
Ella is reminding us all how important it is to stop and smell the flowers. I cannot even handle the cuteness.
Per the birthday girl's request we went to dinner at Rochester Mills Beer Co. The girls got the cherry wheat and it was so delicious.
The boys all got a beer sampler.
I was waffling between the lobster mac and cheese and the beer cheese soup. I opted for the lobster mac and cheese, but I should have gotten the beer cheese soup. I knew the mac and cheese wouldn't be as good as it was on vacation. The lobster was crunchy and it just put me off. I have just been making terrible restaurant choices lately, UGH. #firstworldproblems
Ella was a little angel at dinner. We haven't gone out to eat as a family in a long time so it was a lot of food. Good conversation. Good times.
Ella and Aunt L selfie! After dinner we went back to Eric and Jess' for a drink. We watched the MSU game and hung out. It was a really nice evening. We got home around 10:00 and I read for an hour before calling it a night.
Sunday we both slept in until 9:00 which is late for both of us. AND we might have slept longer but we were awaken by our neighbor's dog barking. I made a chocolate croissant and since our allergies were hitting us HARD we did church on line. Then I walked Manny for an hour and weeded while G mowed.
I ate leftover mac and cheese from dinner last night and binge watched Hart of Dixie for a while.
It was pretty chilly outside so I was in the fall spirit. I painted my nails black and my toes a deep red. Fun!
It was beautiful outside, but a little chilly so G made an afternoon fire and we spent the afternoon just relaxing on the deck.
Family selfie! And yes, Manny gets his own chair. From a kill shelter in Northern Michigan to his own chair. He's living the life. I watched more Hart of Dixie (seriously, such a great show!) while G watched soccer and the Lions. It was a great weekend and I'm sad to see it end.
